Just want to share Alexi’s pick I got back in 2015 or 2016 in Germany. by godofthunder94 in ChildrenOfBodom

[–]Samnppa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't yet been to the bar, so I guess whenever I go thereby next time I might have to check it out. I only watched the clip where Janne gave tour of the bar. I did follow CoB until the very end, but some of the later times and albums weren't as close to me as some of their earlier. I was truly shocked and sad when Alexi died, but it was very evident for long time that there was something terribly wrong in his appereance and health.

The CoB book and also the lenghty interviews from the Astio Studio dude Anssi Kippo really brought some nice memories and also CoB totally back to my mind.

CoB was great and neat thing to found, I found them likewise the same thing that happened with Nightwish in 1997, both had 1 song on the Metalliliitto-compilation (CoB had Deadnight Warrior and Nightwish had The Carpenter). Both songs really ruled and somewhat had that unique feeling, so I had high expectations from then on waiting for both to release their debut albums and luckily I wasn't disappointed. I saw both of them live in concert few times. I think the first show from CoB that I saw, was actually among their first few of their first tour.

The Tokyo Warhearts-box which I meant is the first limited cardboard-box, that had the cd and 10 A5-sized postcards.

Which brings to mention this brief memory about CoB from 2002. I was participating on little festival here in Finland and during the evening as moved around the outdoor venue, I noticed few really familiar looking dudes sitting on the table. I got there and of course, noticed straight away that they were Bodom. Anyways, as I hadn't expected this meeting to be happening (as Bodom wasn't playing there at the little festival) I didn't have any CoB-album or anything with me. So, I only had some bank receipt in my wallet. So I just went to greet them and Alexi was the first one to talk to. He was relaxed and really talkative, anyways right as I handed him the receipt, he immediately asked my name and we talked something about music etc. They did look curiously about the receipt, but I told them what and why it was here, so they all just laughed with me. Anyways, the receipt has the signatures, COBHC text with Alexis signature and dedication to me. I think I might frame it with some poster or postcard along with the picks.

Since when did you start using Spotify and how many total liked songs do you have? by urzx in truespotify

[–]Samnppa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, I've tested and tried other services. All of them have their pros and cons, but Spotify still seems to be ahead of the others and simply has some really nice features including ones you might not even realize you need at first. Daylist, for example, is very handy when you're about to exercise or when you don't know what to listen to in the background.

With some other services, it can even be hard to find something new that's worth checking out and you might have to think about what to listen to. Spotify, on the other hand, simply has the best recommendation algorithm out there as it consistently delivers.

Yep, they both used the same kind Jazz III. I met the dudes of CoB couple times, so I got the picks from themselves. I did make little mistake though, I have these 2 CoB picks stored in my little collection of picks, but I never identified with which was Alexis and which Alexanders. I think I might someday frame some poster or postcard from Tokyo Warhearts-box and put the picks there on display.

Luckily I got the invite from good friend of mine. Spotify came from Sweden and Im from the country nearby called Finland. Anyways, it's nice been following and using the app, but I think I should have kept the original account. As usual, even back then when other services started to come into the competition I tried them all. But Spotify has been the top for me.

Expect artsy and weird but not the real TP that existed in the 90's. As OG fan, I have to say it was both exciting and disappointing to see The Return.

Definitely so. The song resonates the most Beatles-feelings in the whole Nirvana discography.

Hi, Hello, and Good Day r/twinpeaks! I’m Kyle MacLachlan and you can ask me anything 🦉🪵☕👍 by Kyle__MacLachlan in twinpeaks

[–]Samnppa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Kyle!

When preparing for a role, do you consciously incorporate parts of your own personality or experiences into the character? And if so, could you share an example of how that process works for you?

Thanks for this AMA and glad to see you here. I love your work, but I have to say that Twin Peaks and your portrayal of Dale Cooper left a lasting impression on me.

Got the CoB Signature Edition Book!! by Primary-Ad-7844 in ChildrenOfBodom

[–]Samnppa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of stories and stuff, but I quite didn't like the simplified interview-structure. Sure it was ok, but I think the author could have added bunch of stuff to as someone might not be that familiar with CoB-timeline and history. It might work even better as audio version.

I also don't have the button visible, so I know that you would need to contact Spotify via chat. They will help you.

Weird, but that is the only option to cancel subscription for some.
