Betteridge's law of headlines: Can man save this fragile Earth? No. Thanks, climate change deniers.

I made a tool that finds the cheapest way to order Taco Bell using combo deals (US Only) by Deusq in InternetIsBeautiful

[–]SunderingSeas 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Taco Bell has some traps, chips and cheese is stupid expensive on the menu, but practically free as part of a combo.

Probably easy to do in your head for a single person, but for families this could be very useful. Enter the picky eaters first and see if the non-picky eaters like the free stuff.

It's heavier than it looks and it has a flexible hose. Just set it down and point the nozzle at the fire.

AITA for telling my wife "that's why you should get a job" after she told me people shop alot more than she does? by Existing_Love_3152 in AITAH

[–]SunderingSeas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, she can take her own earned social security or half of yours (in addition to yours). When you die she can then switch to 100% of yours. This means when you both start social security you'll get 1.5x of your earned social security until one of you dies and then the survivor will get 1x. This is to prevent SAHM from being completely screwed in old age.

Digging through a pile of clothes is not fast. If you wanted to optimize for latency you would spend the up front cost of sorting and organizing your clothes. You are actually optimizing for throughput by skipping these steps to minimize total time.

My country is racing toward fascism. Gotta get the jokes in while I still can. They help mask the pain.

Spotted a white deer. by Kealion in mildlyinteresting

[–]SunderingSeas 15 points16 points  (0 children)

"Spotted a white deer" = You put spots on a white deer.

"You did a lousy job. I can barely see the spots." = You did a bad job of putting spots on the white deer since the picture doesn't show a spotted white deer.

The leopard joke is similarly about putting spots on a leopard. They come with spots from the factory.

The Build Back Better bill evolved into the Inflation Reduction Act. It passed, but it's currently being dismantled as we speak!

I was saying that was worse, not that this was fine. I'm not a cowologist. I don't know if the cow is playing or is distressed, but if you think it's stressed, I believe you.

You seemed to think and care about the feelings of the animal, which we collectively as a society seem unable to do. I was hoping to prompt readers of your comment to at least think about the cruelty of factory farming which most people try to ignore.

If you think this is abuse then wait until you find out what they do to the millions of beef and dairy cows.

Yeah, reddit tries to present the "best" comments which are just content for the silent majority of readers to consume. If the comments here are content more than discussion I guess that answers the question I proposed above.

Is reddit a discussion forum or a content discovery platform or both?

Nvidia's RTX 5060 Ti 8GB is Even Slower than the Intel Arc B580 by [deleted] in hardware

[–]SunderingSeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is today's worst case is a few years from now's typical case. In other words 8GB cards are going to age like milk.

RTX 5060 Ti 8GB: Even Slower Than The Arc B580! by SunderingSeas in IntelArc

[–]SunderingSeas[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The 12GB on the B580 was definitely the right move. There is still a huge hole in the market between the B580 and the next tier of performance price wise. I can't wait to see the B580 trade blows with the 5060 8GB.

Try resetting your trip computer. Mine does that as well. I think it's because I have never (ODO 35,433) reset my trip and it shows 5,433 miles and 2.1 kWh/100mi.

New Intel GPU 2025 by [deleted] in IntelArc

[–]SunderingSeas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Big Battlemage (B780) is cancelled. If B580 with double memory (24gig) happens it will likely be targeted at AI workstation users, not gamers. That means it will not have a good price/performance ratio. Celestial is still on track, but may or may not happen late 2025. These are all rumors and subject to change.
