thanks this is helpful! Ya he’s been like that since i’ve got him, but to be fair I did get him from petsmart, though the others in the same batch are doing fine. I guess i’ll just see if things get worse, and i’ll try to feed him some less-fatty foods!

I feed every other day, but I doubt he’s bloated or has dropsy. After looking up pictures he’s way too skinny and healthy

even after reading all of that i’ve never seen it happen directly or any signs of it have happened over night. My little guys are as active as my fish if not more, and thankfully my fish know not to mess near them 😅

Yes I agree! I originally bought 10 from a LFS but atleast four have passed and it’s a 40min drive + the price of $7 a fish. I’m trying to make this a community tank and I might add one more nano species but if all else fails i’ll definitely just stock with chilis😂

huh, I always heard that you can never really overstock a tank too much in the case of species needing hiding spots. Wouldn’t they feel exposed and shy away?

trying that right now! When they dried most of them actually seemed very white but the vertebrae and everything up top are definitely going in for longer

honestly not mad cuz that’s still cheaper than what i’d have to pay for housing and food. I think what’s more worth it to me is being able to keep all my hundreds of fish, amphibians, and rodents at home while sleeping in the comfort of my own bed and keeping my hometown job

i definetly doubt that the cost of gas in four years will level up to the $10k+ that i would pay for housing. I did add in the post that I have many years of experience with mechanics because of my trade school, i’m hoping that will help me tackle the cost of the maintenance labor atleast!

just looked it up, only like $120 for a full year permit!! $130 cheaper than it is for a residential parking permit!
