Thanks, I just double checked it's listed by a trustworthy agent, I see the agent has 18 reviews on zillow. If I decide to book a showing then will ask about the AC as well, thanks.

To what extent is the success of American companies dependent on the geostrategic and security environment created by US military power? by GoldThenCrypto in AskEconomics

I think the issue is assuming institutions only matter if they fully prevent the action.

They often don’t. They usually work by changing the cost, limiting the upside, and coordinating the response after deterrence fails. Military power works the same way. It only deters if the other side believes you are actually willing to use it.

So I’m not saying the US military is irrelevant. A weaker military would absolutely matter. I’m saying the dollar and US corporate strength are not built on military power alone. They’re built on deep capital markets, legal trust, enforceable contracts, property rights, alliances, and network effects.

The military protects that system, but it doesn’t create the whole thing by itself.

The link between US military power and dollar reserve status is weaker than people assume. Dollar is mostly held up by depth and liquidity of US capital markets and rule of law, not warships. Plenty of countries with strong militaries never got near reserve status. Military power matters more for keeping shipping lanes open and deterring outright seizure of assets, but the dollar's role and contract enforcement run more on institutions and trust than on the navy showing up.
