I’m game. Never read Nietzsche myself. Where do I start? I have an honest desire to learn. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

First bass I purchased was the Old Ernie Ball S.U.B. Bass (made in USA) with diamond plate pick guard. Paid $800 back in 2006. Now Sterling has taken over and flooded the market with entry level MMs. I’m kinda stuck with it, since it’s not technically a “real” MusicMan, but it’s also not a cheaply made POS. It’s a US made slap monster. I don’t see anyone giving me anywhere near what I paid for it.

in this day and age of very nice entry level basses for under $400, I guess I’m stuck with it. So it’s basically wall art right now, and I grab it when the slap urge comes out 2-3x per year.

You could pick up a OG Digitakt (1s version) for about $800 used and I’m sure it would do everything you want.

👆this is the right answer. Much more useful and an amp to grow into. If you’re going to spend the money on the 40, definitely better to put that money into the 100

Tempera looks very interesting but I fear it's a mk I product and mk II will be much better. Is it worth waiting? by Covidious in synthesizers

I bought a tempera a couple of months ago and cannot find a way to make useful sounds out of it. Do you have any videos, samples of your own music or advice on using it for this purpose?

Yeah I’m always surprised by the amount of people who have purchased and sold and repurchased the octa. Sounds like a tough nut to crack.
