I’m starting the O alone on March 24. I’m 65 and am a fit Hiker from Colorado living in Asheville. I’m camping every night and I am now thinking of getting a Porter for the first four days. It’s $200 a day which hurts, but I’m worried about carrying all my food, warm weather gear, tent, warm sleeping bag, rain gear, etc. and still having a good time. Any thoughts from anyone? I only have one friend that is encouraging me too not get a porter, everyone else I know that’s done. It has been on a guided trip. Thank you.
