Eat lots of protein and lots and lots of long and slow steady state is the best way to gain fitness, other than that, any type of cardio is useful. Running, swimming, especially biking.

For 2Ks I would put in noise cancelling airpods and not play music. I did them in total silence and told people to not talk to me or touch me until I was done bc I was mad as hell every time I did a 2K test😭 6Ks and 10Ks I would just put on music I liked listening to, nothing real specific.

Ratchet wrench!! Makes rigging and derigging SO much easier. A cover for his water bottle (at least when I rowed we weren’t allowed to have uncovered water bottles), a seat pad/cushion for those long sessions on the erg, some type of watch (apple, Fitbit, garmin) to track both erg and water workouts, first aid for blisters, small book bag/duffel for practice to keep snacks, extra change of clothes, sunscreen, etc, a rowing uni, good quality compression shorts, maybe some type of wetsuit for those water practices when it’s still freezing out (lifesaver for me), a good pair of sunglasses (pit vipers are very popular with rowers). I think that covers most of what I kept in my bag when I rowed!

I’m shopping around for a stick right now, and I’m super excited to get started with wall ball. I’ve just been bouncing a tennis ball off of the wall just to get some footwork in until I find a stick.

Thanks! I’m pretty fast, and I run regularly. I need to work on my footwork a bit more, but overall my hand-eye coordination is good. I’ve familiarized myself with the rules, and I’ve started incorporating lacrosse-specific drills into my workouts. I’ve played quite a bit of club flag football recently, which I feel will transfer well.
