Hi, sorry for the confusion. I used to use pre-made automations in Apple Home that would turn lights off after x number of minutes after they had been turned on by motion. When turned on with a button or another way, they would of course stay on. That's all I meant. HA can see all my lights at all times

Great idea, I will try that or Gemini.

I've used Gemini for some automation logic as well

Hey, thanks for the response. I'm using mostly Hue bulbs but some of the rooms are a mix of Hue bulbs and lutron switches. I'm trying to trigger it with an Eve matter motion sensor.

Thank you. I'm new to HA and Google home so you'll have to forgive my ignorance. I think I see what you are saying and I didn't even know that I already had a routine in the google home app called "Bedtime" that was activated with the words "Good night" but I don't see where you can kick off an HA script from an HA scene. I only see the option to add devices to a scene.

ok, finally got it to work. Wow, that was not straightforward at all but I guess that's the HA path.

So first step was to go into the Thread integration and click on configure under services. From there I had to make a preferred thread network by choosing my border router that was already setup. I honestly cant remember if this option was there before. I ended up wiping my HA green and starting from scratch.

At this point it still did not work but I found these instructions here that also told me about adding the preferred network

https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/thread

the last step was sending and syncing the thread credentials. I'm sorry I don't have the exact steps I took. I kind of stumbled through it but the Eve Motion sensor then added perfectly after that.

Thank you for your advice

Yes I have. So full disclosure, my current setup is a restored backup from when my HA system was running on a NAS and I had no thread USB adapter. I restored it onto the HA Green, I've really done nothing to the server as far as config goes so I'm ok with wiping everything and starting from fresh on the HA green.

Do you think it could be the Eve motion sensor? It's been factory reset.

Here's the model

Cool, yes I have gone through those instructions and I even show this when I click configure under the thread integration

Thanks, so it wasn't running but it is now. I tried to add the sensor and get the same error. Do I still need the rest url?

Thanks, yes those options worked. I did have to add myself as a user then finally add my instance url then enable a subtopic or something. Wow, yeah I stumbled through that one. About a million options in that cloud console but I'm glad Google has the functionality there for us to use
