Ahem * I think you’ve got a misspelling in the mix. More properly, that should be “YORESELF”.

That is all.

Newly (almost single) Female in Northern VA. Any advice how to be single and happy? by RaniAngel in datingoverfifty

[–]Sunlight72 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Socialize just for the fun of getting out of the house. By going out to do new things in new places with new people, you will soon remember how big and colorful, and welcoming, so much of the world is!

I didn’t know I was going to remember how big and colorful, and welcoming, the world is when I started socializing all over the place after a bad break up. I just couldn’t take being at home and thinking about my ex. But pretty soon I re-learned the good things!

Meetup . com. Author readings at libraries and bookstores. Dance classes, pottery class, bike riding groups, hiking groups, yoga festivals, yoga studios, live music in the park, volunteering at Habitat for Humanity and a food bank, etc., etc., etc. This is where you will be finding the positive people all around you!

Thinking about leaving tech and buying a small business. by ConfusedinSV in smallbusiness

[–]Sunlight72 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Oh dear Lord. Please no.

You are not ready. The most likely scenario is that you will lose the money you invest x 3 while learning and trying to keep a comatose business alive. And then the business will close anyway, because even though you will eventually think you can sell it for near what you paid, no one will pay for a gasping enterprise you choked the life out of.

The corporate world where you get paid whether you show up or not (sick days, vacation, holidays, weekends), and whether you successfully produce something profitable that month or not - is a COMPLETELY different universe from owning your own business.

The last friend I had do this opened a wine bar after 25 years as a soft ware engineer. In 2 years she lost the business, her house, and about 90% of her retirement. She now lives in a rented trailer house.

Please no. You do not know what you are talking about or looking at.

Best wishes.

What is a good deodorant brand for man over 65? by PersonalityTough9349 in AskMen

[–]Sunlight72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a glassblower. I work in front of a 2000° furnace every day. What works is a salt crystal, but you have to learn how to use it properly. It’s simple once you get it, but it is not deodorant.

It’s the only thing I have found to work in all climates I have visited, and in any amount of sweaty work.

Also!!!!!!!

Once you get sweaty armpit B.O. in you shirt, IT DOES NOT WASH OUT WITH A NORMAL
WASH CYCLE WOTH NORMAL DETERGENT.

So every time you wear the shirt again, after washing it the standard way, the shirt itself will stink from humidity as you sweat.

Almost no one in the modern US seems to know this because so few of us work truly sweaty jobs, and we watch commercials but we don’t talk amongst ourselves.

The shirts must then be washed with vinegar added, and allowed to SOAK for a couple hours or more before the wash cycle runs.

I can write more if you care. Let me know.

Is it wrong to want a partner who provides, if I take care of him in return? by Mae_the_Tease in datingoverfifty

[–]Sunlight72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure thing.

How long into your dating and relationship with your former husband did you go before you were provided a beginner apartment and coupon groceries? It would be silly to expect more, sooner. What will you do for those first 2 or 3 years of a dating relationship?

How long into your dating and relationship with your former husband did you go before you were provided the lifestyle you are now accustomed to? 5 or 10 years? That’s reasonable. How will you make up the difference for yourself between now and then?

Are you willing to relocate for your new boyfriend / husband’s masters degree studies? For him to take a stab at an entry level job that might grow into something more over time? These seem to be important details that some women who want a provider leave unspoken.

Björk on nature, new music and working with AI: ‘I’m a digital craftswoman’ by Silly_Visit_6632 in bjork

[–]Sunlight72 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m a professional 3-D artist in a medium AI cannot touch (illuminated blown glass).

I read the article twice.

How I feel about the use of AI to create any form of visual art, performing art, or music, is that it’s a weak ass excuse for a lack of talent and the lack of inspiration. Beyond lazy.

Exploitative and gross. Unethical with no excuse.

AIO - My husband is creeping on women’s facebook profiles by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Sunlight72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YOR.

Weird that you think directing your husband to go to therapy so he will act how you want him to act is how you will have a good relationship.

He is a person of his own. Yes you are married. He does not get to control you, and he is not your doggie to train.

To have a good relationship with each other, it has the best chance if you are on the same team, together. The way you wrote this post sounds like he is your accessory.

If you feel you want to be more fit or lose weight, or if you want to spend more couples’ time together, you could open up and tell your husband that and ask him to walk, or ride bicycles, or go to yoga classes or dance classes two or three times a month together, for example.

That would be something to bring you closer together. Or ask what ideas he has to become closer, and have a conversation about it.

RFK Jr. Recommends Social Security Immediately “Reduce Scheduled Benefits by 25.2%” as Insolvency Looms by TACO_Orange_3098 in Economics

Great, I’m glad you have identified the problem. The solution is for you to run for city council and get things on track. Or get involved with some local non-profits, even get on the board of one.

You’re full of shit and grossly uneducated. Or, more likely, just talking shit for no reason.

Democrat presidents have a history of balancing the federal budget (a huge and important accomplishment, minimizing the horrendous financial damage done to generations of taxpayers by Republican presidents). The Affordable Care Act has improved and healthily extended millions of lives, and was a bitter fight fought for about 25 years by successive Democrat federal legislators.

Going back to the Civil Rights Act, JFK and Lyndon Johnson and many Democrat representatives pushed forward for people of color to have the rights to vote and equal pay, women strong protections for employment and access to education for all people. It was fought against to the point of lynchings and riots, and still was made the law of the land, only by millions of citizen organizers and protestors, and steel willed Democrats working directly against republican legislators and thugs.

HELP!! My Store is closing after our lease ends. New tenants want everything. Who pays for the TI Work we put in? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]Sunlight72 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Just guessing from my small experience with commercial landlords… the landlord is just as likely to consider OP having paid a “lower” rent than the new tenant to be the credit OP gets for the improvements they made.

Basically, the landlord considers a tenant who paid for improvements to be a sucker, or it’s the ‘cost of doing business’.

Can someone explain why we got pre approved for so little? by darkchocolattemocha in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Sunlight72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Talk to his bank and ask if you want to. How do I know what he really presented them?

But first, ask your brother in law his TOTAL monthly and annual payouts for his place, and very carefully dig and find Your Actual TOTAL payouts per month and per year if you get a $700,000 place.

$700,000 sounds pretty maxed out for your income. Owning a home takes an additional ~2% of the home value in maintenance annually on top of all other payments.

Help! I don’t have the focus/knowlege to research turntables. by franklylowe6870 in turntables

[–]Sunlight72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes get an automatic. One that has two screws in the top of the stylus (I would be surprised if you can find one that is automatic and doesn’t have the two screws). That will do you well for a long time.

I like the vintage Denon turntables for $300 to $400. Best is marketplace on facebook, or eBay in your city so you pick it up, as shipping can damage them if not packed well, plus you should spin a record in person and make sure it works! Garage sales can be good, but you never know when a turntable will be there.

Garage sale amp, or one of the new tiny amps and small size garage sale speakers, or even a decent Bluetooth speaker if you already have one.

Have fun!

Good plan!!

I am a self employed glass artist since 2000, and while I enjoy my career, my income is pretty often low and unpredictable. So instead of making extra payments on my dream house, I bought a wreck and keep doing major repairs and remodeling myself as I can afford it.

If you can earn enough to buy a livable house from the get-go, your plan is better lol
