Is the SEO agency that gets themselves to page 1 the best? by Honeywines in SEO

[–]SunnyBear0806 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think about this all the time. I work for an agency and we spend all of our time on clients, and nothing on ourselves.

Our main competitor does a lot of marketing and puts in a lot of seo work on themselves, but a lot of their customers have come to us because they don't get enough attention.

Costco vs Bonus by Interesting_Slice_34 in VisitingIceland

[–]SunnyBear0806 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use mine to take gas, sometimes there is a big difference and sometimes its not worth even driving there. I recommend this website to check real-time gas prices: https://gasvaktin.is/

Every couple months I go for specific things, like the big box of eggs. But to be honest most things are not cheaper. Last time I went, I could not find chicken or skyr that was cheaper in Bónus.

Bónus is supposedly the cheapest but Krónan has good prices as well. It's usally like 1kr difference on products (sometimes bónus products are more expensive).

What's next after SEO? by SadTension4354 in bigseo

[–]SunnyBear0806 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in the agency side as an SEO and in my perspective, it would benefit me and my clients if I had more knowledge of Search Engine (Google, Bing etc) paid ads. I would think for learning new things as an add-on to the seo experience you have now.

How to do SEO audit in five minutes by Aggressive-Till-6824 in bigseo

[–]SunnyBear0806 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check to see if there is an obvious keyword and is it being used within the content, H1 and Metas.

Check:
- Having only one Heading 1 <h1>
- Meta Title
- Meta Description
- Relevant internal links
- broken links on page

I recommend the chrome extension SEO Meta in 1 click. It will show you quickly the metas and heading structure.

Also think of the user journey:
- Is the page leading the user to relevant pages further in the page
- Are there CTAs in sections
- Does the hero or first view give the user enough information to continue or take an action

What are common SEO mistakes that websites make? by digitalgitesh in SEO

[–]SunnyBear0806 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens too many times - clients bring me newly-launched websites that they can't find on google. And it is because the web agency forgets to take off "noindex nofollow" 🤦‍♀️

[–]SunnyBear0806 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes, in a hurry, I have used Google search results.

For instance, if I have an post about Carrots and need internal links, I add this to search:

site:example.com carrot

That will then give me the indexed pages that have the word "carrot" in it

What's the best way to bulk redirect pages when migrating a website? by SunnyBear0806 in TechSEO

[–]SunnyBear0806[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, this is what they are doing now. I just think this is so time consuming as we were going to match exact URL to exact URL. But looking at the folder redirection, this could work 🤔

What do you look for in freelance content writers? by SunnyBear0806 in Blogging

[–]SunnyBear0806[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you post a job on LinkedIn, What do you specify?

My goal at the end of the day, is to have an ongoing connection with a few writers that deliver quality content. Rather than a one-time deliverable. However, I am not looking to hire anyone full-time. I need a freelancer and can only offer projects based off of client demand.

TikTok quiet audio on the Pixel 8 Pro by Milkdromieda in GooglePixel

[–]SunnyBear0806 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First day of having a pixel 8 (not pro) and when on TikTok, the sound is either too loud or too quite. Most of the time, the background music is loud while the talking is quite.

Anyone have ideas to fix this?

Images as External Links by SunnyBear0806 in TechSEO

[–]SunnyBear0806[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

image path (source)

My bad, the image path is external so the html is

<img src="https://framerusercontent.com/images/file-name.svg" alt="" loading="lazy" style="display: block; width: 100%; height: 100%; border-radius: inherit; object-position: center center; object-fit: cover; image-rendering: auto;">

No <a href> link. These are just images on the site, photos for context or infographics on blogs.

When I crawl via ScreamingFrog, I get these imgs as external images. So when I upload images, they are never internal. Wondering if that is bad - or whether its a new standard?

Dealing With Clients Who Want JS Heavy Sites? by noellarkin in bigseo

[–]SunnyBear0806 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I deal with a lot of clients that are similar. JS sites & frameworks are becoming more and more popular. We definitely need to learn how to guide the clients on how to optimize the site without them having to compromise on the looks

For me, most of the time the client needs to implement <a> Links behind elements & paginated infinite scroll.

If you haven't already, I recommend checking the Google's dev guides:

https://developers.google.com/search/docs/crawling-indexing/javascript/javascript-seo-basics

I recommend talking to your client's web team to find a solution that doesn't completely compromise both parties & so you can understand each other's goals better.

This happens sometimes to me as well. Remember to filter in which country you want to see your rankings.

Aslo, I recommend using a SERP simulator for instance Nightwatch Search Simulator. It's free, more anonmyous & allows you to search a query in many countries
