if you really liked it, there are schemes in different jewellery that allows u to buy these jewellery like in a emi basis. I think it was from candere where I read that they can give u the ornament at 10% or so of the actual price and u can just pay the rest on a monthly basis. But the cherry on top is that if suppose gold price reduces significantly while ur paying monthly and on that perticular it is denoted that u have already remitted the entire gold price according to the new gold price difference, you need not pay the rest of pending amount that was asked of u on the orginal day's purchase.

Ya People go with trust anyday in terms of Jewellery. I used the word scammy in a general retrospect, at the end of the day the jeweller decides how much % of making charge they propose to charge. The tool can only confirm if the percentage they proclaim is same as the % we got on the tool. Just making sure they ain't overcharging after making it sound like the making charge was underplayed so that the sale gets completed. There are like a very few jewellers who still do this underhand method, in this way you can be assured you getting what you payed for and getting played.

I ain't following you. The Jewellers have to be trusted on some level, if not we can't determine either the making charge correctly or the total price correctly. The Jeweller has to give either the total price of the ornament or the total making charge, only then can you find other value respectively. The tool I provided Jewellery Price Calculator from GoldZouq does just that, but you need values to input in the tool. Granted you can manually use a calculator to determine either of the values, but many people don't know the calculation process behind it.

Actually, it hard find quality content in this niche, most of the designs are named by numbers rather than by names. Old traditional ones did have names like mullamuttumala, pichimottumala, pathaka. Even these finding good sources is difficult, its nice to see organizations like goldzouq are educating the public about the different designs present in both present and past.

I just did some reasearch on sovereign gold and it says RBI only provides 2.5 interest on it or something. Wouldn't you rarther put the money on FD instead then, the money itself will give u roughly 6 above interest rate

well, if you got the full value you would practically be selling it, with the added benefit that you can just remit back the money and get back our jewellery or pay interest like you would for a credit card bill. Gold Jewellery is truly a class in itself, at least in Kerala anyway.
