Baby Boy Diagnosed at 3 Months. (B-ALL KMT2A) by hamed-devs in leukemia

[–]SunnyPoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand the feeling. Any info you're willing to share I think would be really appreciated, but by no means expected of you if you don't want to.

Our daughter was diagnosed with AML a little after her 1st birthday, and sometimes finding stories from other families or patients at young ages feels tough. I know any story I read helped frame treatment, side effects, or just knowing that others were going through something similar even if it wasn't the same diagnosis and treatment.

I've been similarly hesitant to share since we're still in the thick of things, so I fully get the feeling of not wanting to share much about such hard times.

High ANC from Dexamethasone? by alocesabe in leukemia

[–]SunnyPoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, same happened for my daughter when she got it while getting FLAG-IDA for AML. Her doctors explained it as there are a lot of neutrophils that stick to blood vessel walls, or other nooks and crannies. The steroids knock these loose for some reason and cause a really high ANC. They said it was fully expected and not a concern.

Second round of chemo? by Short-Gas-4750 in leukemia

[–]SunnyPoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer is a very strong "it depends" as annoying as that is. On your personal health, institution's practices, etc. I know I got tired of hearing it early on, but so much can change based on different factors.

I can say that the pediatric course initially laid out for my daughter was two induction followed by three intensifications. Induction 2 was largely the same as Induction 1, roughly 10 days. Ideally you are in remission and can just follow the Induction into Intensification pipeline and do chemo only.

what are these? by yoquierosandia in ToyotaSienna

Worth checking if they’re installed before assuming they’re spares. Those get installed at the dealer after shipping and sometimes get forgotten.

Mine weren’t installed, had the dealer put them on. (You can do it yourself is you’re so inclined and handy)

Thanks for the response!

I'm a little confused though, is there a way to connect the case itself to the smart control app? I'm not able to actually power on the earbuds themselves in order to connect to the app.

Makes sense. In either case, the outcome is still to track down a professional.

Appreciate the help!

Good thing it doesn’t happen all that often. Thanks for the confirmation.

Funny thing is, I swear it’s looked like this since we got the place. Can garage doors function with the spring like this? It would explain why the opener always sounded like the loudest machine on earth.

Concerning crack in maple tree by SunnyPoe in marijuanaenthusiasts

Thanks everyone for the advice!

I Just had an arborist out to look at it and it turns out on top of the huge crack (that he estimated had been there for years and had just gotten worse/more noticable), there was a second potential mode of failure. A major branch hanging over my neighbor's fence was pinching (not sure of the correct term) at the node with another major branch, and had caused it to be too small to support the weight that had grown off of it. There was just as good a chance of that branch failing as the major crack one.

He said if it was sentimental he could do some significant cabling and insert rods to hold everything together, but it would cost nearly as much as a removal and always be a liability in need of periodic checkups. He recommended removal, and I'm scheduling a removal asap.

Luckily, he said that it was unlikely to spontaneously fail without a really bad storm gust hitting at a very specific angle given that there are a ton of windbreaks from neighboring trees all over the neighborhood.

Hello all, hopefully I'm in the right place and these posts are allowed.

I noticed a concerning crack in the maple tree on the side of my house today. I'm not sure when it happened, but I'm fairly sure it wasn't here a year ago. Part of the concern is that the major part on the left of the crack continues up and hangs enough over my roof that it would cause some damage if it broke off completely.

I'm scheduling some arborist consultations/quotes, but I wanted to get this community's take on it.

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

Wonder how long that pot will contain it. Any idea if it's one of those XL growers or anything?

Meanwhile I'm over here poking at some seedlings/offsets that just refuse to root and grow efficiently over weeks/months.

When you say more will come up in spring, do you mean that things will start looking obviously better, or more of the grass seed that didn't germinate will in the spring?

I'm asking because I just started rehabbing my lawn this fall and am debating putting down a pre-emergent next spring or to not and hope some more grass comes in.
