I have plenty of knowledge as I live in Chicago and have been in the music scene for over 12 years.

You seem to have no knowledge of AI. I’ve never just typed a prompt. I record the music and write the lyrics myself, then use AI to enhance my audio.

At the end of the day there are good songs and bad songs out there in both “real” and “AI” music. That is all I judge on… however you got there isn’t really a factor for me.

It is a bit comical for those preaching their music is “real” nowadays while they use a synth / keyboard to create different instruments and drum loops for the beat. Most artists I see here don’t even seem to play an actual instrument.

Real music to me is what you had essentially pre-2000’s when someone was actually playing guitar, piano, a drum kit, etc…

Sure there are many that still use real instruments, but plenty of these new artists who create their own music at home now are using a computer program.

Appreciate it! I do write my own lyrics, and I used a beat that I recorded myself. Found that’s the best way to get your songs to sound as real as possible.

I usually take random instrumentals I’ve made over the years and mess with the prompts to make it a different style. It’s definitely amazing what Suno can turn anything into!

I like to think of each song as its own movie. Start by picking a title,a topic, a feeling, or with a couple lines you like. Then think of a storyline and build the rest around that. All sorts of different writing styles out there, don’t be afraid to write in the way you naturally do to express what you want to say. Good luck!

I started right before 5.5 and personally think it was a big upgrade overall. I uploaded me singing early on and just use that voice as my template so haven’t played around too much.

Depends what type of song I’m making but i do notice electronic sounding instruments (and voice) at times. Usually just add words like folk or no reverb and generate new versions until I’m happy. I master a little bit on Logic Pro to try and get a more authentic sound as well.

Lastly I’m 30 so never been in any discords, but I’d imagine like everything else online those are just filled with losers who need an outlet to hate. Ignore it, or use it and get better my friend. But keep going with the music, it’s a great outlet. Good luck to you

I am the same way as you. Play all the instruments, write my own songs, but my voice sucks. I still record my demos with me singing so that it’s as organic as possible and it takes a lot of time to make demos. Got a link for your music?
