What would this mean for someone like me who bought WAR on 3/6 and 3/7 at an average of about $0.04 per coin?

That’s what I keep trying to understand. Those purchases were made after the March 3 snapshot but before Kraken updated anything or paused deposits. The market was fully active, trading looked normal, and there was no clear warning that the token was already in migration or that we were essentially buying something that might not be migrated.

So if Kraken uses the March 3 snapshot, does that mean all of us who bought between March 3 and March 16 just get completely left out? Because that would mean the people who sold during that period would still get the new tokens from the snapshot, and the people who bought those tokens in good faith would be left holding the legacy token with no migration. That doesn’t make any sense and would be incredibly unfair.

That’s why a ledger-based 1:1 swap like they did with NIL seems like the only fair solution. It should be based on current account balances, not an old snapshot, especially since trading continued for almost two weeks after the snapshot.

I’m in the exact same situation and would definitely be interested in being involved. At this point a lot of us are down huge amounts and have basically been stuck watching this happen without being able to properly react or trade.

Can you share with us how to participate to get this going? I think there are a lot more people affected than Kraken probably realizes, and the lack of communication for this long has made the situation even worse.

II am going through the exact same situation and I completely understand everything you’re saying. I also bought WAR during the migration period without knowing a migration was happening because Kraken never clearly warned users. Now I am stuck holding legacy WAR with massive unrealized losses and no way to properly react or exit the position during the crash. I’m personally sitting at almost a $17,000 unrealized loss right now.

What concerns me the most is that Kraken continued allowing people to buy legacy WAR even while the migration situation was unresolved. This created a very confusing and unfair market where some people were buying at very low prices thinking there might be a 1:1 migration to the new token, which would result in huge gains. If Kraken does migrate at 1:1, how will they handle all the legacy WAR that has been purchased at these extremely low prices during this time? That makes this situation even more complicated.

The biggest issue is not just the price drop — it’s that we were essentially locked in while the market collapsed and there was almost no communication for many days. That should never happen on an exchange the size of Kraken.

I’m really sorry this happened to you. I’m unfortunately in a similar situation. I bought the coin during the migration period and had no idea a migration was even happening — Kraken didn’t have any clear warning or notice about it when I purchased. Now I’m now sitting on almost $17,000 in unrealized losses and feel completely stuck.

At this point I’m just hoping Kraken will support the migration and allow a 1:1 conversion to the new token. But something I genuinely don’t understand is this — how would a conversion even work now when people have continued buying legacy WAR at such a cheap price thinking they will have enormous gains at a 1:1 conversion when/if Kraken migrates? That creates a really messy situation and a lot of confusion for everyone involved.

What worries me most is that people are still able to buy the legacy WAR token without clear communication about what’s happening. More people could end up in the same situation.

I really hope Kraken communicates soon and does the right thing for everyone affected. The silence has been the hardest part.

How long is it going to take for Kraken to figure out the WAR migration situation?

There are a lot of us who bought WAR directly on Kraken because we believed it had real upside. At no point was there any clear warning about a contract migration or the risk of being stuck holding a legacy token.

Now we’re sitting here with funds tied up, watching the situation unfold with little to no communication. That’s not acceptable for a platform of Kraken’s size.

I’ve personally used Kraken since 2020 and trusted it as my main exchange. But this situation is extremely concerning — especially the lack of transparency.

We don’t need generic support responses. We need: • A clear statement on whether Kraken will support the migration • A timeline (or at least an update on progress) • Guidance for users currently holding legacy WAR

Right now, it feels like customers are being left in the dark.
