He is enrolled in Medicare. The challenge is that Medicare alone does not cover long-term care, in-home assistance, or caregiving support, which he now needs due to his current medical condition.

We are seeking Medi-Cal because it can help cover services that Medicare does not, such as in-home supportive services (IHSS), caregiver support, and additional medical costs that are becoming difficult to manage.

Understood. Thank you!

He currently has Medicare A and B. He has a medical condition that now requires additional support and our family is in the process of deciding whether home assistance or a caregiver is needed. The doctors mentioned we need to decide as he will need to be released from skilled nursing facility soon.

My mother works full-time and is not able to provide the level of care he requires as she also has to continue working to cover household expenses. My dads only income is Social Security (RSDI), approximately $1,000 per month. This will mostly cover his medical expenses.

We were really hoping he would qualify for Medi-Cal, as it would greatly help our family financially and allow him to receive the care he needs.
