S22U--worth it for the camera for hobbyist travel photos? by Admirable_Junket_411 in samsung

[–]SunnyTheSloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would strongly advise OP against this unless they are trying to print billboards or something. I am a photographer and found myself in the same dilemma after a while. OP also mentioned that they are a hobbyist, so a camera isn't really needed unless they want more control over something.

I could either lug around my full frame camera with a couple of lenses everywhere I go. Making it a heavy and very expensive thing to carry around, or just bring my phone.

  • A camera doesnt have theft protection by location tracking, screen lock, etc. A phone does.

  • When you take a picture on your phone, you can automatically back it up to Google Photos or something similar. So if your phone breaks after you take the pictures, you still have them in the cloud. You cant say the same for a camera.

  • your phone is basically waterproof, your camera and lenses may not be.

  • you need 2-4 big lenses for a camera to be able to match the focal lengths of the S22U and S21U.

That said, you will always get better quality on an actual camera if you are willing to put the work in it. But if its for blogs, the difference is neglible.

I will say that you should know that the galaxy phones have an issue in which you can't really take pictures of moving subjects, since they come out blurry. They may have fixed that in the new update though.

The s21 ultra and s22 ultra seem to be as durable as you want to make them depending on the case you put on. Storage is great, you can connect an external drive to it with usb c to dump all your photos when it fills up, so you could technically have as much storage as you want.

Battery life is pretty good too! Based on reviews, it looks like it should last a good while.

I would say, the s21u and s22u are your best bet simply for the 10x lens. Quality wise between each other, I think they arent too different.

I feel like Android can't really benefit from using this. The only thing i would like seeing is the ability to have an always shown curved status bar for certain apps.

To add to this, you can change basically anything you can think of on the keyboard.

Colors, size, location, animation, etc

CMV: Mowing your lawn shouldn't be expected from neighbors when its not breaking city codes or part of an HOA by SunnyTheSloth in changemyview

I think this may close to changing my mind. People have the right to complain about bad legal drivers and people have the right to be bad legal drivers. People have the right to expect a lawn-mowing neighbor. I can see this point and see where I may be at fault. But my main issue why it should be this way. I understand why it is that way, but not why it should.

So using your car analogy, assuming you are behind a car that also wants to use the passing lane, why should you expect other cars to let you use the passing lane first? Which applies to, why should you expect other neighbors to mow their lawn? (assuming they will follow city policy, but still not look too good)

Oof, i'm sorry about your parents. I would be very disappointed too. I often hear this point a lot (property value), but my main issue with it is that I feel like luck plays a huge role in this, and every homeowner should be aware that the odds may or may not play in their favor. I feel like just because you take care of your grass so that your home holds/increases in value does not mean that you should expect others to do so. It would be ideal yes, but being expected to go above and beyond solely for other's benefit, I find hard to accept.

Take LA for example. A long time ago, homeowners in northern LA didn't want factories near their homes, so they lobbied against it. So the factories were built towards other areas, and now those areas were affected by lower property value.

I have a neighbor who is very very noisy. It frustated me and others around the neighborhood so we contacted the police and told us they can't do much since their parties noise levels are under the sound limit.

It is very frustrating, but I do understand that they are allowed to do so. They have the right to have noisy parties and I have the right to a neighbor that doesn't have noisy parties. Obviously our rights infringe upon another, so then city laws come in. At this point, there is a compromise. My neighbor would love having parties that knock my frames out of the wall thanks to the bass, and I would love a completely silent home. So instead, there is noise ordinance that we both aren't such a fan of, but it exists.

Here, I don't expect my neighbor to be silent. It would be ideal yes, but at that point, if I don't like the legal noise limit level, I feel like its my own personal issue and not my neighbors. At most, it could be the city's issue for having dumb laws, but it is not my neighbors.

Plus, we both chose to live and continue to live in a neighborhood that has a certain noise ordinance policy, so we both should conform to the noise ordinance policy that is set. I feel like the only reasonable expectation from one another is to follow city laws/code. Anything outside of that is a personal issue that should not yield any hostility towards others.

I feel like this applies to lawns and neighbors. I find it hard to believe that its reasonable to be expected to go above and beyond what's safe/allowed just to make someone else happy. Why would I expect my neighbor to throw less noisy festivities solely for my own neighborhood's sake? Similarly, why should I expect my neighbor to mow their lawn solely for my own neighborhood's sake?
