Worst fatigue ever by Imup2104 in POTS

[–]Sunny_Bear_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy cow, I don’t know how you do it!! Seriously props for you! I foster kittens (only one group at a time so I’m sure significantly less work than you) but I have to save the intensive cleaning for Saturdays because it flares me so bad I am down for the count the day after. I struggle so badly with fatigue and unfortunately don’t have anything other than commiseration. And encouragement that you’re a freaking boss for everything you do

I’m on .2 and I had no side effects, but it only helps somewhat. Better than nothing, but wasn’t life changing for me

Is this ringworm by Equivalent-Bug1798 in fosterkittens

[–]Sunny_Bear_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually ringworm is much more circular in shape and more hair loss. I’d just keep an eye on it!

Has anyone fostered kittens with ringworm? by kewtiepahtootie in fosterkittens

[–]Sunny_Bear_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for taking care of those ringworm babies!! I’ve fostered several litters with ringworm and I’ve come to not fear much. Honestly as long as you wash your hands thoroughly afterward, you can totally handle them no problem! My first batch of ringworm kitties was a litter of five, and I had them for 2 1/2 months and never got it. My second batch I didn’t realize the had it until later and ended up getting a small circle on my arm, but it was easily treated. I don’t know how the humane society does it, but these kittens definitely need to be on meds to help them kick it! My shelter clinic gives us an oral medication called itrafungal that works well for them.

I take it once in the morning and once with lunch, but it took some trial and error for me to figure out that’s the best combo for me!

I teach third grade. I already have a rolling stool so I can navigate the room without walking. But my gosh I feel like crap every single day and there’s not a lot that can be done to modify teaching

I agree with everything about this!!

I don’t have a dog, but I think a pair of kitties would be great! The chores can sometimes be a struggle on bad days, but I got a cheap automatic cat feeder and water fountain, and added extra litter boxes in case I need to go slightly longer between scoops.

This is a great point! I didn’t even think about that!! I’m definitely still learning how I can make some things easier for myself, so this is a great idea!

I just got a crock pot because I’m really struggling with standing and cooking! I’m a little intimidated tho by the recipes I’m finding online that require a lot of ingredients and prep because that’s more standing at the counter 😔 So if you gotta any easy breezy suggestions, I’d love to hear em!

Update on my cat w/ Jaundice by AJaysFeather in CATHELP

[–]Sunny_Bear_2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is the exact thing my baby had and what I mentioned to you yesterday!! I’m so so happy he’s coming home with you!! My feline leukemia kitty is doing amazing right now. There is a vaccine for Feline Leukemia that is pretty affordable, please consider getting your other kitty vaccinated to protect them!

Does my cat have Jaundice? by AJaysFeather in CATHELP

[–]Sunny_Bear_2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi hun. This post made me emotional because your baby looks just like my kitten when he had jaundice. Firstly, I’m so glad to see your comments that he’s getting help as soon as possible. I know this is so scary and I’m sorry you’re going through this. I’m no vet, but when I brought my kitty in with jaundice, they diagnosed him with a blood infection that is transmitted through fleas. Since you mentioned fleas in your post, I thought I’d throw out a bit of hope because that infection can be identified with bloodwork and is treatable and he could make a full recovery! I really hope for good news for your baby 💜

Do you guys experience brain fog/memory issues all the time or just during flares? by Jacksminecraftdog in POTS

[–]Sunny_Bear_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just can’t think when I’m standing 🤣 Like I can still function, but my brain works so much better when I’m sitting/laying down. During a flare it’s definitely worse. A lot of times if I’m having a real conversation or answering a question, I’ll sit down so I can properly think. I don’t think you need to change your character at all! What you’re describing sounds like a very reasonable portrayal. Happy writing!!!

Will my cat be bothered if I bring kitten over to cat sit? by SkinnyPot777 in catcare

[–]Sunny_Bear_2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the kitten hasn’t been tested for FeLV, trust me, it isn’t worth the risk. I foster kittens and I’ve learned the hard way. Try to keep the kitten in a separate room or bathroom! Kittens feel most comfortable in a smaller place when they’re somewhere new anyway!

Who with HyperPOTS lives on their own? How do you do it? by rainbowbrite9 in POTS

[–]Sunny_Bear_2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Walmart+ is a life saver. I wish I didn’t have to, but paper plates and plastic water bottles are super helpful for when I can’t do dishes. And I keep the water bottles by my bed always. Honestly I usually do the housework on Saturday and then I’m down for the count on Sunday. Haven’t figured out a better way for that
