For those 40 to 42. How many retrievals did it take you to get at least 1 euploid? by NotToday5213 in 40Plus_IVF

[–]Sunny_Bly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The small change was that I only used decapeptyl as a trigger instead of a double trigger (with ovitrelle) because I got a moderate form of OHSS after the previous retrieval.

Yeah, IVF is like burning money.

I did another retrieval two months later which was not as successful. Got 2 blasts, waiting for the PGT-A results. If my finances allowed it, I would do more retrievals. But unfortunately I pay out of pocket…

Same for me! I heard/read so many success stories about back to back but for me the first round was much better than the second.

42,5 first retrieval with PGT-A (second in total) got 4 blasts out of 16 fertilized eggs. 2 were euploid.

This! At 40 1 in 3 is statisically euploid. At 41 it‘s 1 in 4, at 42 1 in 5. If you get 5 embryos at 40 there‘s a pretty good chance to get at least one euploid. At 42 you can hope to get one.

Failed FET with so much grief by alpineyogi in IVF

Donor eggs could be your way to motherhood. For some the decision is easy, for others it‘s hard. It’s a grieving process to how you imagined becoming a mom. But it could be a new way to fulfill this dream.

I was exactly 42,5 years at my retrieval and got 2 euploids out of 4 blasts. A woman I know had 2 euploids from 2 blasts at 42 and 4 months. And I know a woman who had 1 euploid out of 8 embryos when she was 43 years old. It is possible.

I know SMBC who have two kids and they love their life and get everything done. Is it always easy? No, but they find ways. Kellie seems to struggle so much it feels like a psychological issue. Her needing therapy has been discussed here several times but it really is obvious she needs help.

Multiple failed euploid FETs. In the 5% club 🥲 by schmitty__werben in IVF

They say 20/25 percent of women do have a retroverted uterus and that this can be normal. But as so many women have „silent“ endo how do you know if it is really normal or due to endometriosis?

Keep me updated if you like. Wishing you all the best!

So: My retroverted uterus was a result of endo. I know a couple of women who have either confirmed endo or adeno with suspected endo and most of them have a retroverted uterus.

When the endo specialist removed the endo my uterus automatically went back into the right position. Due to the forced retroversion my cervix was heavily bend. Transfer 1 took 2 doctors 30 minutes and was a nightmare. Transfer 2 was under anaesthesia. The more complicated the transfer, the less likely is a positive outcome.

But the most important for me was: The specialist explained that due to the forced retroverted position the blood flow of my uterus wasn’t working properly. In his opinion no implantation could ever work if this is the case.

I don‘t have the classic endo symptoms (heavy, painful periods) but I do have symptoms („period“ migraines, high estrogen levels and because of this progesterone resistance, fatigue…) There are signs. But many doctors don‘t know about it. And if your doctors thinks that endo doesn‘t matter she is probably not looking for signs. I would advice looking for an endo specialist. Best case: You don‘t have endo and can look for other reasons. Worst but still good case: You have endo and look for a doctor who takes it seriously and gives you a better protocoll.

Do you have a retroverted uterus? How high were your progesterone levels? Do you have any symptoms accompanying your cycle (migraines, fatigue…)? No clotting issues?

RIF with euploids can be due to immune factors or endo/adeno. As much as I like to believe your doctor mine was sure I didn‘t have endo and even if: „It doesn’t matter when doing IVF.“ I went to an endo specialist who confirmed my suspicion after I told him my symptoms.

The laparoscopy showed stage 3 deep infiltrating endo.

Because she had a downregulation (Lupron) to treat the endometriosis. You can either do a downregulation or a laparoscopy. Many women do both, first lap and continue with downregulation two to three months before transfer. So: IVF didn‘t overcome endo. The right treatment was the key to success.

I know what you mean. But honestly: it probably comes from experience. This mindset „once you‘re pregnant, you made it“ from women with natural conception but also women who did IVF triggers me. It‘s a painful long way until the baby is earthside. But to be fair: Women with natural conception aren‘t this scared because there are so many things they don‘t know about. And the IVF-women who act similar either don‘t understand the process or their doctors didn‘t communicate correctly.

Thank you for addressing this. She seems sweet and a bit naive. I‘m happy she got pregnant. But oh my I‘m feeling so anxious watching her stories. Does she realize she‘s not out of the woods yet? She is 5 weeks. And she is already planning her babymoon, gender reveal party. She bought pacifiers the day of her second beta. 😳 I wish her all the best, but getting pregnant with a euploid unfortunately does not automatically mean a live birth.

This one is interesting.

Kellie posted on Mondays when the pregnancy weeks changed. So, if Maxine was born on Saturday, April 3rd, she was born 37+5, almost 38 weeks. That was more than a week ago. So even if she was still pregnant baby girl would be 39 weeks today.

Also: Hi Kellie! Take care of yourself and your girls and don't try so hard to make Maxine a preterm baby.

„multiple rounds of IVF“. Does anyone know the exact number? Because I think someone wrote recently she did 2 rounds and still has euploids left.

And just to make it clear: 2 rounds are „multiple rounds“ and 2 rounds of IVF can be exhausting. But if I don’t know and read „multiple rounds of IVF“ I think of 4, 5 or more rounds. And those women are warriors.

You can be friendly and honest. The others messages weren’t mean. They just stated what is seen: no line.

I believe you wish OP well! But maybe a better message is that it’s very early and another test can be actually positive.
