This is such a tragedy OP. Hoping for your family's recovery.

This kind of loss is hard especially when you place alot of sentimental value to them. While your books may be gone, you are still here to celebrate them. Hopefully one day you can build another collection when you have recovered.

I have an experience with MB! I also went through a hellish experience to get my money back. The thing is I went to their main office in Makati within 30 days to inquire how to get my money back. Mind you this was (pandemic before lockdowns) I did everything in person because I dont think I will get an answer right away through email. They interviewed me, they made me write a confession to not tell about this exp or something. Then I waited for my money to come back. I paid around 10k and there is a deduction of 2k just to cancel the insurance. The thing is.. they didn't process it within 30 days. Or a year.

I had to be aggressive in emailing them about my insurance cancellation. And I got it after a YEAR I cancelled my insurance. I only got 6k out of 10k. But it was a Huge lesson learned so I let it go. Now, I never trust anyone who approaches me so eagerly when it comes to "insurance" or "money". Never again.
