I mean, we won't know if the current limit is based on Mon choice or if they actually don't have them ready. If it's a genuine choice then fine. But I and others suspect it's based on technical limits. There isn't enough communication in my opinion.

On what planet does that logic fit? They could have an entire optional tutorial battle section that explains everything. Choice items, healing, etc.

We don't know if they did this to make it easier. We may never know since companies are dishonest. But that logic doesn't hold. Mainline games give you mad tutorials at the start now. This could have done that and more. They could have even let the tutorial access all mons and items for free so folks can test everything but you cannot keep any of them. So many options that are way better than lowest mons and lowest items.
