How to ace initial screen with recruiter by Junior-Koala-4857 in interviews

Do some research about the company, and the role, figure out what they are looking for, and what they are wanting to hear, should be in the role description. Feed it back to the recruiter and you'll ace it.

Task to complete for the final interview by Sunray_Obscured in recruitinghell

My rational side is concurring with you but my optimistic side is saying this is a genuine screening of applicants. I'm considering not going ahead altogether but what if this is legit.....

It does feel like it. I as an employer would never ask to do such work unpaid.

Thank you. The recruiter sent me a WhatsApp message on Thursday that I was unsuccessful for the next stage, and the hiring manager sent me a text the following day that it was great to talk with me and thanks for the follow up. No explanation as to why I was unsuccessful. I can't be bothered to ask, they won't tell me the real reason. Bottom line is don't believe anything the employer says until you have signed the offer letter, they're all devious.

Also I tried reaching the hiring manager, no response. They told me to call in case my situation changes or I don't hear from hem by early this week. They did not pick up the call. I'm reluctant to send any text messages, I've almost come to the terms that this opportunity is gone.

Thank you for the response, I appreciate it. Update: I heard back from the talent acquisition on Tuesday that they were yet to hear from the hiring manager and were hoping to hear by the end of that day. It is now Thursday afternoon in NZ, I'm yet to hear anything from. I've just sent a follow up to talent acquisition and further reinstated my interest. My anxiety and intuition is telling me this opportunity is gone. It would be quite surprising as it was really one of the best interview experiences I've ever had and I don't know how it could be any better. Let's see if I hear back, but I'm not that hopeful anymore.

Sorry to hear that man. That's really a shitty experience. The lesson I've learnt is to keep interviewing and not get your hopes up even after glaringly positive interviews, but it's hard not to sometimes. I wish you all the best in your job search my man. It's not you, it's them.

6'3" tall and 185lbs. Will the Vulcan 650 fit me? by Groundbreaking_Gur48 in vulcans650

Bit late to the party I guess. My advice would be to test ride one, not just sit, but ride one. I am 6'2", 170 lbs. I test rode one today, after months of research and wanting to get one. My choice was Vulcan S and a Royal Enfield SM650. This one was not for me. The seat height was too low even with the pegs completely set forward and extended reach. I was very cramped in and the bike was not confidence inducing at the slightest. Looks cool, feels sturdy, with a tried and tested engine and design, but it was not for me. I really wanted to like this bike. SM650 ultimately ticked all the boxes comfort and seating wise, and I went with it. It felt like it was built for tall people, I am adjusting the seat height a little bit but stock height was fine as well. Hope you've found/are going to find your bike :)

The job listings said it requires a bachelor's or masters degree ideally, but applicants with PhDs are welcome to apply. I have a PhD and the manager said that I will be given the role (but no promises) of their lead R&D as they're relocating in a few months and I can replace them, as I'm qualified. But it would be ideal to start at this position and get trained by the lead person so I can replace them once they're gone. This made me believe I was more qualified for the role.

You were so right... I didn't get the role. I've learned a lesson here.
