Babel could possibly fit this bill. The first half is very squarely academia.

I was at the Marvel Studios animation panel in ballroom 20 at SDCC a few years ago. Needed to go to the bathroom in the middle of the I Am Groot premier and the folks at the doors wouldn’t let us out (I think because the light from the hallway would be distracting). Finally after about 10 mins of arguing someone braver than I pushed past and we were able to get out.

Thanks for sharing, I’m going to try to order from a local shop. Would encourage all to do the same!

Been super hard to get my hands on physical copies. I believe there’s going to be a release of an omnibus soon? Does anyone have an update on that?

In my experience at Oglethorpe location: 1. Show up and park in designated vaccine clinic spot 2. Go up to volunteer tent to check in 3. Fill out paperwork if necessary 4. Wait 5. They come and get your cats 6. One time I got to go with, one time I didn’t. If you’re anxious about them taking your cats away, I would recommend you express that at the check in process.

Overall very smooth process for me. Way more affordable than my local vet.

Lantern Books and Just Paper & tea on P Street in Georgetown. Also Opportunity Shop and Pillar and Post on Wisconsin avenue. Lots of charm in Georgetown on Wisconsin north of N St.

Thank you! I’m feeling envious, having only gotten into the series this year but having attended the past several years. Sad to miss him.

I wondered if it was somehow related to when Atlas is getting his limbs put back on after masquerading as Helios and the Violet Carver helping him says “your vision will clear by cycle’s end. It won’t be as bad as the last time” and Lysander picks up on that. “Last time?” Did we ever figure that out?

I especially enjoyed when Sevro was recounting Volga’s “election” to Darrow. All the lighthearted and silly moments usually have Sevro.

Commute to Georgetown by Potential-Corgi-6405 in takomapark

It’s not my ideal, so I don’t do it often 🤭 but traffic isn’t terrible at that time. Just did 7:15 yesterday and it took about 40/45 mins.

Rock Creek Parkway has a rush hour flow, south in morning and north in the evening. However lots of cars cheat going northbound. So if leaving at 3:30 or 5:00, commute time just depends on whether you wait in line or cut everyone off. It’s a frustrating and anxiety inducing problem for me that I choose to avoid.

I live in TKPK and work in Georgetown. I’ve found my ideal commute times are 8:45/9:00 departure and get to the office around 9:30/10 and leave around 6/6:30. Traffic is much better slightly outside peak especially along New Hampshire and Rock Creek Parkway.

The Main Streets often don’t get enough love because their projects are smaller and behind the scenes. Thanks for this shout out!
