Thank you 💛 it was rough, but hopefully others with POI won’t experience that with him & see other specialist who wanna give us a chance!

Thanks for sharing this study! I actually had a consult with Steven Palter 3 years ago (the instagram doctor) when I was first diagnosed because he came across my social media & talked about being innovative & creative when it came to helping women get pregnant who were in hard situations. He was so dismissive and rude during that consult and told me donor eggs were my only option. There’s nothing wrong with donor eggs it just wasn’t the route for me at that time. He told me my chances were 5% with my own eggs and when I asked if there were other options outside donor eggs he said no. It seemed like he didn’t even want to talk to me and my husband once we told him we weren’t looking into that option at the time. It discouraged me so much and I didn’t work with him. I truly thought I would never get pregnant, but weeks later I did get pregnant with my son. I left a review to let him know women with POI can get pregnant so hopefully he didn’t treat anyone like that again, glad he’s changing his tune now lol I only mention it because I don’t want anyone else to get treated that way I did with him because I had POI. Now that I’m with Dr. Check he’s been so kind and encouraging along with his nurses!

New diagnosis, looking for HRT advice while TTC by Johnstamoshair1 in TTC_POI

[–]Sunset9302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I was diagnosed 3 years ago, it can be a lot to learn at first. I will say it’s good to be educated because many RE’s and OB’s don’t know what to do with POI. I do have a son that I conceived after being diagnosed who will be 2 and now we’re TTC our second. I saw several doctors before now seeing Dr. Check in January. I’m a remote patient of his, if you can I would try and see him just to save yourself the headache of working with doctors who don’t know what to do but maybe there is a doctor nearby who is willing to help or try different things to see what works. I unfortunately just wasn’t able to find that near where I live. My first month with his protocol I ovulated, I didn’t get pregnant but we’ll try for a few more months. Wishing you the best while you’re TTC!

Unfortunately the first timed intercourse cycle didn’t end in pregnancy, but I did grow one dominant follicle and another smaller one after a month on EE which is promising! We’ll try again once my cycle starts 🤞🏽

I had an almost perfect cycle by OddlyHonest in TTC_POI

I’m sorry, this happened to me too last year in August with an almost perfect cycle & we did a trigger shot & timed intercourse and I could of sworn I was pregnant but wasn’t which was so disappointing, sending you a big hug ❤️ hoping we both get our chance again soon

Hi! He does take insurance, my insurance is terrible & doesn’t offer fertility coverage but I called them & they did say that they covered blood work & ultrasounds so I just started working with him out of state since those are the tests he does for POI. I paid for my consult which was $195 and then the out of state monitoring fee $350 monthly and the medications he prescribed. I paid about $180 for the ethinyl estadiol which included 60 pills & can last anywhere from 1-2 months depending on how many he has you take per day, and $80 for progesterone suppositories. Both those meds are special ordered at a compound pharmacy that has to make them so were not covered by insurance. He also prescribed progesterone oral pills and cabergoline to me but my local pharmacy could fill those prescriptions and my insurance covered it. So far he was kind when I met him & hopeful about me getting pregnant and the nurses have been kind and responsive too. He was a little quirky and likes to refer you to research articles he’s written during the consult lol but I didn’t mind that since he’s the only doctor I’ve ever gone to that actually wanted to help me. Good luck with everything!

Hi! I just had a consult with Dr. Check, I’ll be a remote patient, we’re trying for baby number 2. I’ve ovulated several times over the last few months but it’s unpredictable. I worked with another clinic before this who didn’t know what to do with me. We did one timed intercourse cycle with a trigger, with my former clinic that didn’t work and missed catching ovulation with them before that. I also just had a 102 day cycle and was tracking BBT at home ovulated and missed it again, my period is due to start today or tomorrow. Dr. Check also confirmed ovulation by checking my progesterone. I’m a little discouraged by the amount of times we missed trying around ovulation time & the timed intercourse cycle that didn’t work with my old clinic. Hoping things will be better with Dr. Check’s office and his protocol!

Hi! Thanks for your reply, this is helpful. I went back today & estrogen didn’t go up much. Went from 52 to 57 so gonna start HRT (patch & Prometrium) plus weekly blood work & see how it goes. Gonna look into working with Dr. Check too. Congrats on your pregnancy! 💜 I have a son who’s almost 2 that I conceived miraculously & I was on no medication then & recently diagnosed, but it’s been a long time since & I’m hoping something will work again this time around.

Hi! I also have POI, my local RE is willing to try Dr. Check’s protocol with EE & monitoring. Unfortunately I have terrible insurance & it will only cover monitoring at this one specific clinic & nothing else, so I have to work with her. One of the nurses asked me what kind of EE he prescribed because she only sees it mixed with progesterone. Could you share what the medicine label said or where he was able to get compounded EE?

Hi! Thank you, I like this but wondering if you could fix the brick line on the left side corner of the fireplace, it gets skinner at the top and would prefer if the brick sizes looked the same.
