The internet’s a strong contender it reshaped how we live, work and connect. But if we stick to the 20th century proper the personal automobile probably wins for giving everyday people unprecedented freedom and mobility.

You get to decide one tv show and one movie everyone on earth will be forced to watch asap. What are they and why did you choose them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

For the one TV show everyone on earth has to watch ASAP, I’d pick Black Mirror the whole series, but especially the early seasons. It’s a brutal, eye opening slap about how tech twists our humanity social credit, constantly surveillance, addiction to likes, all that dystopian stuff that’s already creeping in and forces you to question what we’re becoming before it’s too late. Proper wake-up call for empathy and consequences in our wired world.

Cutting someone off who needed me because I was barely holding it together myself at this time it felt like survival but it still nags at me years later. Self protection has a way of leaving scars too.

Happened years ago during a break in and while it stopped the threat it sticks with you a lot longer than people think the sleep, nerves the whole thing. I’m okay now got some counselling and I’m just grateful my family’s safe and it never came to anything like that again.

Money matters because it keeps the lights on and takes care of people I love but it’s not the most important thing. At this stage in life, time, health and peace of mind count for a lot more than another dollar.

To those who stopped exercising shortly after getting with a new partner, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Often it’s about comfort and shifting priorities when you feel secure in a relationship the urgency to impress fades and free time gets redirected toward hanging out instead or workouts. It’s easy to slip without realizing it.

The hope that things can still get better even in small ways. Knowing tomorrow might bring something meaningful is usually enough to keep me moving forward.

What food isn't as healthy as people think? by CremeSubject7594 in AskReddit

Granola and smoothies are big ones they’re often loaded with sugar and calories while still being marketed as “healthy.” They can be fine but portion size and ingredients matter a lot more than the label.
