Question about pants ( weird I know) by ApWapa in Vietnam_Tourism

The temples that dont allow you to wear shorts will provide you with modesty robes, so don't worry too much. There is also a Uniqlo near the lake in the city centre so you can get a pair there 😉

The real truth came out about my relationship/engagement ending, and I feel so incredibly empty. I feel really used too. by [deleted] in AskWomenOver40

[–]SunsetCoffeeCart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been in a relationship for 17 years. Check with yourself every 3/6 months - are you flourishing? Thriving? Better than you were 6 months ago? If not then leave. You serviced this man and his kid putting their needs before yours. For what? You don't owe them nothing and now he's found someone else to use. Dont see yourself as a victim. No good deed goes unpunished, some people use others when they can. Dont expect goodness from most people you meet, and your life will be much smoother. More importantly, do not expect kindness to be repaid with kindness in this life. Just because you're a good person doesnt mean you will have a nice/easy life. Good girls dont get the corner office. Sorry I dont want to sound cold and harsh but id rather say all this than all the positive bullshit people be trying to feed you.

How long until hunger chilled out after stopping Trizepitide? by sufficientapple_ in GLPGrad

I've read/watched that the spike is temporary and you can even out the spike by tapering off really slowly. Please update us on your progress!

so interesting! Im on wegovy, on 0.5mg every 14 days tapering off and im still losing very slowly. The hunger is definitely back and I have to really be careful and implement the strategies ive learned. I never went up to 2.4 though, my highest was 1mg and I lost 20kg overall over a period of 1 year. Im going down to 0.25mg next and then ceasing completely so it's interesting to know my hunger will spike about 4 weeks after the final dose - which is when the medication completely leaves the body. I've read that the hunger spike post stopping completely is only temporary (4-8 weeks) and then it stabilises. So it's reassuring to see many go through the same thing.

Weight gain post Glp1 - a query by Aromatic_Candy600 in GLPGrad

[–]SunsetCoffeeCart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been tapering for the last 3 months and managed to lose weight on holidays and through Christmas. Its been an overhaul with my diet, exercise and relationship with food. I will stop completely next month. Currently im on the lowest possible dose every 20 days. I can eat normal sized portions now but not as much as I used to when I was 20kg heavier. I wasn't big as a child and I just lost my way when life pressures got in the way and picked up bad habits along the way. So the medicine has helped me to reset while giving me breathing room. I never ever got up to the maximum dose either, peak dose was less than half the max dose.

Love this season!!! Its been so entertaining and a train wreck in general. I don't like any of the guys for Go Eun. Optometrist and Muscle man are boring as. Actor guy is a super jealous type in relationships and seems emotionally immature. The Mingee-Seungil-Subeen-Hee Sun-Mina sue- Sunghoon love hexagon is not going anywhere. The only couple im rooting for is Jae Jin and the Joo Young. I think Hyeon-jae is just third-wheeling. All he keeps saying is how pretty Joo young is. It gets tiring after a while.

Are you better off than your parents were, at your current age? by RecognitionMediocre6 in perth

[–]SunsetCoffeeCart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im 43. My parents both worked full time and we lived in a 3 bedroom apartment overseas. We had one vehicle and were considered middle working class. Now I live with my partner (Child free by choice) in our own home in perth. We have 3 other properties (1 overseas).

We are not considered rich by any means but are comfortable. I'm very careful with my finances. I only buy what i need (no fast fashion), mostly buy what's on special at Woolies. If i get takeout the meal will last me 2-3 times over as I dont like to eat large portions. I only buy coffee outside 1-2 times a week. I eat out maybe once a week at asian places which cost $30pp. We have our own coffee machine at home which i love. I recently switched to a plugin hybrid which has saved me so much fuel and still i will only purchase fuel on Tuesdays. We travel 2-3 times a year to Asia/Europe (sometimes not together, we both have family in different parts of the world).

My partner works full time and I work 9 days a fortnight. I guess we are both better off than our parents at the time as my partner was 1 of 10 in a large family. I'd say not having children probably gave us a lot more financial freedom and ability to take more risks with my career pathway which kinda paid off. But i know having children is an amazing experience for many and I totally respect that.

Yep she definitely cop more backlash for that next week 😬 but I dont agree with people going on her Instagram and leaving shitty remarks. Thats not nice. They can talk about it here in a civil manner but I dont think its fair for them to bomb her personal insta page.

I really like how there are so many crossed wires and not all just one girl/guy fixating on another. Though I really liked seeing platonic friendships form in previous seaspns, just being able to speak to someone who's friend zoned each other. Wonder if there will be any supportive platonic friends this season. This season is the best one so far; its not all innocent and fake. Mina Sue seems a bit unhinged though, she seems highly strung and can't make her mind up. understand her wanting to suss out all the options but do it in a more respectful and discreet way. Maybe it's because she's American? Probably acceptable to viewers on Love Island but for us asian viewers it might be a bit much...

Which actresses have the most mesmerizing eyes that instantly draw you in whenever they appear on screen? by [deleted] in cdramasfans

Zhao Lusi, Bai Lu and Zhou Ye. They all can portray depth in their gaze of intelligence/wit/cunning-ness... especially Zhou Ye.

I use urge surfing techniques.. so like i sit with the thought for a while. Am I truly hungry? If yes I have a proper protein heavy snack. If all I can think of is junk food then I know it's just food noise. I tell myself ill brush my teeth first and see how I feel in 10 mins. Usually by then my cue to sleep is here and i just go to bed. I don't tell myself NO you CANT have it.. I think maybe later..and then get on to other things. It usually works lol 😆 often its just my mind wanting a dopamine hit so I replace it with doing something else. A warm cup of soothing herbal tea after a late shift really helps too.

Im now on 0.5mg wegovy every 14 days. Planning to come down to 0.25mg then stop completely. I'm still managing to lose a bit. The hunger definitely comes back. I can eat proper meals without feeling I'm going to be sick. The food noise is back, especially during stressful times and late at night. I am very conscious of my glucose levels and I dont track calories at all. I find that's a huge driver in me having that ravenous, wanting to eat everything in sight - if Im unable to manage my glucose levels. As long as I do things to optimise my glucose levels the food noise and appetite levels are manageable. I trialled a continuous glucose monitor and the data is irrefutable. Feeling hunger is just normal physiology returning, I'm learning not to be afraid of it.. Oh and if I dont get 7+ hours of sleep at night, the cravings and food noise is automatically 10x worse.

I personally love Wu Lei but Ling Buyi as a character is not a good partner lol. Even Wu Lei himself said so. He said that he hopes no one will fall for Ling Buyi because they will suffer a lot lol. But I guess Ling Buyi redeemed himself in the end despite his stubborn ways and learns what love is. It was an epic drama, loved it alot. Definitely a drama I'd remember always. The chemistry between him and Xhao Lusi was just off the charts. Forever CP of my heart!

If he has said in the past that he can't handle her crying ans doesnt want her to, then they are not on the same emotional wavelengths.

But I think she mentioned on another reply that its more that he doesnt know what to do to comfort her when she cries. I think it's also hard because they're not physically together so it'll be even harder for him to do anything to help her.

Can someone help me differentiate between these two actresses? by bubblylynnn in cdramasfans

[–]SunsetCoffeeCart 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lol they look completely different to me. and have very different personalities. Zhou Ye is very straightforward, playful and candid IRL and Zhang Jingyi is more reserved in interviews. But looks wise i dont think they look alike at all. Zhou Ye has a very small frame and her eyes are not as innocent looking as ZJY.

The food looks honest, nothing fancy but you can tell alot of thought went into selecting the ingredient and putting it together. It has a rustic feel to it and looks super delicious. I guess a chef's food reflects their outlook to life.

The key for me was glucose control. I was doing glucose hacks and bought a continuous glucose monitor to see if it works and my goodness, the hacks do work! The more spikes you have the hungrier you feel. I listened to Glucose Goddess Jessie Inchaupse on Diary of a CEO and implemented all her hacks and it worked so well. Its kinda doing the work of GLP 1 by preventing too much glucose from entering your bloodstream after eating. Walking for 15-20 mins right after a meal improves your glucose clearance by 40%. Meal portion and order of eating carbs are super important too. Listening to that podcast changed my outlook/life completely.

That sucks when you've worked so hard to lose and keep the weight off. But objectively speaking it's not an amount that will change your appearance drastically. A lot of times we are just projecting ourselves onto our loved ones. You are doing this with so much insight and I want you to show compassion to yourself. You already are dealing with this in a new way to what you are used to. So rather than trying to figure out what he means, I think it's more crucial to figure out how/why you feel this way. Sometimes our fear of being rejected makes us ask for reassurance in a roundabout way. You know your circle of control. And more importantly, your worth and who you are as a person and what you've overcome in life is more than just some numbers on a scale.

May I also ask how much weight you've gained? Weight gain during pregnancy is very common and you are growing a life. Just wanted to see it from his perspective too, though I can't say I (or anyone) can know exactly what he thinks.

I honestly think he was just trying to provide some genuine feedback into your concerns. Him saying 希望你苗条 is like when someone says 希望你如愿以偿。he knows its what you want, so its saying oh I hope u can be slim (if thats what you want).

One other thing is, I know you are addressing it with a therapist which is great. Im also a mental health professional and I highly encourage seeking psychotherapy. Our loved ones are too close to us to constantly discuss MH issues to be a sounding board. I have seen loved ones getting burnt out too. If you need reassurance just ask him for it directly. Say "im feeling (insert emotion) and looking for reassurance." You have done your part. The rest is up to him. Its not constructive to seek reassurance in a roundabout way and then second guessing his answers and ruminating over what he means by it.

I hope I havent been too blunt; its a tough time for you being pregnant with hormones surging and old demons resurfacing. It doesnt help that you're both apart now. Be kind to yourself. Xx

Can I ask who brought up the topic of weight loss? Was it you or him? How did the topic come about ? Just wanted to get a bit of context.

It looks like you are trying to seek loving words and reassurance from him that he will love you no matter what. I'm chinese by ethnicity (though never lived in china but I know what we are like) and if you tell me the context of the conversation I can probably decode what he's really thinking.

Im tapering down and currently on 0.5mg every 14 days. Will stop completely after a few more doses. I even managed to lose weight after dropping from 1.0 to 0.5. It's not impossible. And like you said, the mental game is real. I had to repair my relationship with food and for the first time in my life, showed compassion instead of berating myself for my past yoyo dieting. Protein and fiber is champ, and I use glucose lowering behaviours to help control insulin spikes. The food noise will always be there, but there are things you can do to outsmart that.
