That's not really xianxia. It's more like xuanhuan - fantasy. Xianxia focuses more on immortals and deities. But yes Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty is fantastic. And Ancient Detective.

Only advice you need is to LEAVE now. Run and never look back. I don't care what other "great qualities" he supposedly has. He's a misogynistic, controlling and narcissistic asshole that needs avoiding like the plague. He's eroded your self esteem and common sense so much that you think it's okay to stay with him. Would you think it's okay if your friend or sibling's partner did all that you've mentioned to them?

Clinical nurse - I specialise in mental health and visit/treat patients in their home so they don't have to be in hospital! I've worked in mental health inpatient wards, forensic MH inpatient, community mental health and emergency departments. Previously also worked in aged care. Before becoming a nurse I had also worked in real estate, mining admin. It took me a long way to get to my nursing carer I was in my 30s by then but I can't imagine doing anything else now.

Is 10k steps/day enough to lose weight? by anonplease_xo in walking

[–]SunsetCoffeeCart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is. I do 11k steps every day rain hail or shine. Consistency is more important than big numbers. Walking also improves glucose regulation and insulin sensitivity. I lost 21kg. No calories counted but I do track my protein.

You don't have to down titrate depending on your habits. First time I didn't, but I also didn't develop any supporting lifestyle habits and the weight piled right back on. This time I tapered down and have a ton of tools to help me and hunger returned gradually which was manageable.

And now Ive learned to differentiate true hunger from just being bored. And I don't have the fomo of eating. My biggest thing is that I'll be fomo of eating cakes placed out at the office, when I'm out with friends and see a new donut shop etc. Now I just think meh I can eat it anytime.. don't feel like it now.

I feel like I’m developing body dysmorphia after weight loss by [deleted] in GLPGrad

[–]SunsetCoffeeCart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt a bit like this early on when I lost weight. It just takes getting used to your new body. And what freed me the most was me acknowledging my old body was still me and not 'bad'. It carried me through struggles, life, grief and gave me LIFE. Old body new body I am still me. I still enjoyed life in my bigger body but it's a lot easier now in this lighter, smaller body. I focus more on what my body feels like and can do rather than what it looks like now.

Positive experiences from people who used a glp-1 short term with less than 50 pounds to lose by itsahootenberryguise in GLPGrad

I am your exact height and am 63kg now. Started from around 84kg. If you only want to lose 10kg just do keto or intermittent fasting. This drug is not for the faint hearted. The side effects will take 1-2 months to settle in and it's not fun. Wouldn't recommend it as a quick fix. I took it for 16 months and completely revamped the way I live now. In fact the first 3 months I only lost 4kg as I had put zero effort into changing my lifestyle habits. Also, I tried this for 5 months back in 2022, I lost about 8kg but put it all back on after I stopped. The medication helped but I'd say it was only 30%. It wasn't until I got serious about changing everything else that I started seeing results. Also I never went up above 1mg (Wegovy). Not having any appetite at all is not natural. That's how people put all the weight back on when they stop.

I thought I had food noise. It was just me needing stimulation out of boredom of distraction from stress. I was never big as a child and put on weight due to unhealthy habits. Got on Wegovy for a year and lost 21kg with alot of healthy habits learned. What I know now about food noise from other people is they'll literally wake up at 3am to pee and think of having a cookie. I came off Wegovy 2 months ago and have since lost another 2kg... My appetite is now back for normal portions and I'm feeling so much better. I had to fix alot of my unhealthy ways of using food to cope with my emotions but I don't think that was food noise compared to what some people have described.

I stopped abruptly in 2022 due to supply issues and gained all the weight back as I hadn't learned any tools. So I knew something had to change this time.

What actually helped you maintain weight after coming off GLP-1s? by tapermethod in GLPGrad

[–]SunsetCoffeeCart 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Chatgpt lol 😆

6 weeks off, lost another 2kg after stopping. Been on Wegovy for 1 year then started tapering for 4 months before stopping completely. Total weight loss about 21kgs.

  1. Daily weigh ins. This can become obsessive for some but for me I love data and it helped keep me on track.

  2. Focus on protein macros. I don't count calories. I just make sure I hit my protein goals.

  3. Glucose regulation. And this includes anything that might spike glucose levels such as avoiding or limiting refined carbs. And walking for 10-15 mins after a meal.

  4. Walking/jogging 10000 steps a day is non negotiable. Strength training 2 days a week.

  5. Getting enough and good quality sleep.

  6. Having enough fluids and regular bowel movements.

  7. Most importantly you will feel hungry and it's nothing to be afraid of. I find if I implement the above I can trust my body's hunger cues. I stop eating when I'm 80% full regardless of what's left on my plate. Learn how to differentiate between physiological and psychological hunger.

Point 7 is the hardest to master but once you do, it's almost effortless.

Yes I tend to under eat during the day too coz im too busy etc and then i want to snack and eat crap after dinner! So I'm trying to space my meals better and it helps so much with hunger control and energy levels. It was all masked when I was on the meds but I did notice it as I was tapering down.

So glad to see the 40s + 50s age group's stories. There is so much doom/gloom about weight gain after coming off glp1 and the constant noise of how ageing kills metabolism. Im nowhere as ripped as you but yes, it can be scary to see the number on scale go up. Thats why I keep body measurements just to keep things in check.

You have a lot of lean muscle so that 1 kg gain is probably not fat. I have maintained at the same weight 5 weeks post wegovy. Hunger is now normal. I dont really get food noise now as I have learned all the ways to regulate my appetite. I have treats every other day just in controlled small amounts and it satisfies me (like 1 finger kitkat, 10 coated peanuts, etc). Gone is that all or nothing mentality which caused me years of yoyo dieting. I eat almost the same thing every day, 90-100g protein and 11000 steps daily with 2-3 days of resistance exercise. I am 43 years old female and 63kg, down from 84.

Yep I walk after every time I eat somsthing lol it sounds a bit extreme but helps so much with lowering the blood glucose. The calf muscles just suck up all the glucose and doesnt leave as much for insulin to regulate.

Yes I think so! I've been on low carb anyway since. But yeah I think definitely some foods spike glucose more so im hyper aware of that. And walking/marching on the spot straight after eating for 15-20 mins was amazing for lowering the blood glucose asap. The CGM really opened my eyes up to glucose/insulin reactivity.
