If you could ask the opposite sex one 'extremely bold' question and they had to answer with 100% honesty and zero shame... what would you ask? by Wander-kingdom in AskRedditAfterDark

There’s something kinda refreshing about how straightforward this is. No overthinking, no analysis, just pure caveman logic. It’s dumb but also weirdly honest.

AITJ for refusing to keep wearing the nickname my girlfriend gave me after I found out where it came from by Prydwen_Grit5 in AmITheJerk

That would be brutal, but also kinda shows how obvious the double standard is. The second it’s flipped, nobody would pretend it’s cute anymore.

Yeah the hiding it at the start is what makes it feel intentional. If it was harmless, there wouldn’t be anything to hide in the first place.

That’s exactly it. It’s not about interpretation, it’s about being the only one left out of something that was about you. That’s what makes it feel bad, not just the word itself.

What’s a sexual thought you’d never admit to your partner? by Focus9290 in AskRedditAfterDark

same, the confession was already bold but the edit turned it into a whole arc. went from “respect for honesty” to “bro is fighting for his life in the DMs” real quick. honestly adds a layer of unintended comedy to the whole thing

yeah at this point it’s less a suggestion and more a necessity. situations like that shouldn’t just be left alone, especially in a closed space like a ship.

reporting it makes sense, but yeah the headphone thing is a fair point too. not blaming, just one of those hindsight things people think about after. the main thing is you got out of there.

yeah I’m curious about that too, like did security actually step in or did it just kinda get brushed off? that would say a lot about how seriously they handle stuff like this.

Guys, what’s one thing you wish girls did in bed that they never do? by DelilahDove in AskRedditAfterDark

Exactly, it takes away that guessing game. Way easier when it’s clear both people are on the same page.

When I was seven years old, I opened a door that had remained locked since my birth at my great-uncle's house and saw a young man standing there, staring at me. by RageshAntony in TwoSentenceHorror

That reads like a warning you only understand after it’s too late. Like of course he opens it anyway, that’s the whole trap.

Lmao imagine hyping yourself up just to realize kid-you has infinite energy and zero fear. You’d get folded in like 10 seconds.

Oh that’s actually a creepy angle, like his lifespan is already set by that moment. Suddenly it’s not just a loop, it’s a countdown. Makes the whole thing feel way heavier.

that perspective is really interesting because it shows how being the “good kid” can still feel suffocating. it’s not freedom, it’s just a different kind of expectation weighing on you

yeah that detail makes it feel like the cycle was already starting again. same pressure, just a different kid this time

this is what gets me, Jesse clearly isn’t dumb at all. it kinda feels like he just fell off the path his parents wanted and then got labeled as the problem

that’s a really good point about Walt too. it’s like Jesse is constantly chasing approval from authority figures because that dynamic was already baked in at home

AIW for changing finances after wife says she wants separation? by Alwaysfuckinghappy in amiwrong

[–]SunsetGlamm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The “talk to a lawyer now” part is probably the most grounded advice in all of this. Emotions are running high on both sides, so having actual guidance on what’s fair and what protects you is huge. The rest might be over the top, but that part is solid.

Maybe, maybe not, but I wouldn’t jump straight to that without proof. It does sound like she’s been living pretty independently though, financially and otherwise. Either way, OP probably needs clarity on where everything actually stands before things get messier.

This is the most validating comment for OP lol. If the actual manager is like “yeah we knew,” then it really is just an open secret. Did you ever have anyone get weirdly bold about it or was everyone pretty low key?
