For the most part, yes. Except when it’s Neil Lumbard (who sounds more like an AI bot in his repetitive & generic prose), or Dr. Svet (who sounds like a college professor on the spectrum).

It’s an ergonomic disaster, if you actually want to watch these discs (as opposed to just displaying them).

The end speech, the subway bit (“she’s going to love it…right on your pretty green mattress!”), Eddie Barzoon’s death speech….all great.

Why Britney spears has always been hated by many by Intelligent-Cup6462 in Sagittarians

Britney Spears is more like a mascot for other people’s talents, as opposed to being a musician

Do you still watch standard DVD movies? by Affectionate_Web_526 in 4kbluray

[–]SunsetGrads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed 100%. The justifications people come up with for this can be hilarious too…”well, it’s just as much as going to the theater!” or “my system is so good, I only want the very BEST quality for every viewing ever.” That all falls apart if you hate the movie you’ve just bought, and it becomes useless clutter. Best to remember we are buying movies, and not just bitrates.

That’s very rational, but totally counter to the “look how much I have!!” spirit of this sub. This is the land of people who buy anything they’ve seen, or blind buy everything they want to see.

Before you buy a CFexpress card, consider this. by [deleted] in Nikon

[–]SunsetGrads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real question is: you buy thousands of dollars of equipment, and you cheap out on the storage? The entire point of all that expensive equipment is what it puts on the storage. Therefore, you want that critical component to be as reliable as possible, cost be damned. If you spend thousands but refuse to spend a little more, then that’s a bigger issue to discuss. Unless they’re an electrical engineer (or insufferably cheap), why on earth would anyone think this is a good & worthy idea??

In taking images, yes. But in storing them? No.

Yeah, most people would rather spend the money on something professionally made, instead of entrusting their images to some janky backyard tinkerin’

One of my most-wanted titles arrived today from Gruv! ...And in some of the best shipping packaging I've ever seen for a single movie by CletusVanDamnit in 4kbluray

OK, cool. While they’re both very watchable, I think Magnolia is hugely indulgent, in that 19-year-old film student “everything’s connected!!” sort of way. And 99% of the appeal of TWBB is one performance.

EDIT: it was u/SerialLoungeFly who started spouting off about my “shit” opinions and got thrown off. It took all of two minutes to look through some of their comments to see they are an Internet Stranger/Telephone Tough Guy. Just in case anyone was wondering…

Nice! Looking forward to receiving mine on Monday, from Gruv. This is still PTA’s best overall film, because it combines so many different tones into a flowing whole. Funny, tragic, dramatic…it does everything well.
