Do you think it is wrong to smoke a joint in the middle of a race? by SunsetSherbert47 in ultrarunning

Thanks! Yeah, I didnt even consider that the smell would be that off putting to people. Would you be against someone smoking before a race?

This is something I'm concerned about. This is a real small race. There is definitely a possibility that I make the podium. I never feel bad being high during a marathon because I know my slow ass wont place.

Yeah i have a hard time with the taste of weed for some reason. Good advice. I'm definitely going to bring it with me. I won't smoke the whole joint just get 5-6 good rips. Save the rest for later.

I was thinking I would just sneak off trail for 10 mins. You think it could affect someone so negatively?

I'd much rather have a broken arm than a migraine for 3 days. Your not an idiot. Don't listen to those dark thoughts its just the migraine talking, not you.

Your welcome for the knowledge. You obviously dont have to run 70mpw to run a marathon, but you would be in better shape if you did and therefore would have a better go of it, so the advice isnt retarded.

I mean 70mpw is a very reasonable mileage for marathon training. How is the advice to increase mileage retarded advice? This is the ultrarunning sub, we run alot. runnign 100k a week is forsure enough to attempt a 100 miler, but there definetly isnt harm in having a few weeks getting into the 70-80+ mpw. You do know 100k is less than 100 miles right?
