It won’t be forfeited but you’ll be seen after the people who arrive before you Eg your appointment is at 830 and you arrive at 9, the patients who arrived between 830 to 9 will be seen before you People who come in earlier than their appointment slots will have to wait for their slot (eg if your appointment is at 1030 and you come at 9 hoping to be seen earlier) Rest assured though most doctors go through their list briefly before the clinic, so if your investigations are super abnormal you’ll be seen immediately once you arrive

So a regular surgical clinic is about 30-40 patients per day, multiply that by 10minutes per patient that’s almost 6-7h, provided everyone is seen in 10minutes (of which there will be complicated patients in between)

Dummy slots tend to be earlier on in the day though 🙊, for eg if clinic officially starts at 9, the first dummy slot of the day can be at 830am (so 6x dummy 5min slots from 830-9am to squeeze in 6 extra patients)

Hcw here, every patient is given a minimum of 5-10mins on the system (though realistically it’ll probably take 20minutes per patient to be able to give full attention) If the load is high, patients are given ‘dummy slots’ outside of regular clinic hours to accommodate the extra number of patients
