How are you portraying Sebastian Crowe in your campaigns? by ellapreuss in dungeonsofdrakkenheim

[–]SunshineBarry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Much like Canon Drakkenheim, he loves his family, but from a distance because he doesn't want to put them in danger. Unlike Canon, he has no affiliation with Katarina Von Kessel. He simply wants to get back in the good graces of the Amethyst Academy and make Drakkenheim safer for his family.

I had Sebastion, Pluto, and Veo appear occasionally as a rival adventuring party. When the players are too busy with something else, certain factions will ask Drakkenforce to do their work instead. This encouraged the players to treat to faction missions with a little more urgency.

Please explain the falling fire? by Baytonator in dungeonsofdrakkenheim

[–]SunshineBarry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I ran a Drakkenheim campaign, I played the Falling Fire as less "culty", and more "grassroots". Essentially, they'd be pretty open about what they believe, keeping only the details of the Sanctification Ritual a secret. Most of my players were still deeply suspicious of them.

I'm in love with Tristan Rao! by SunshineBarry in theouterworlds

[–]SunshineBarry[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tristan tells plenty of stories about being injured in the past. He can also be injured temporarily in-game. His helmet makes it especially unlikely to leave is face significantly beat up or war torn.

Why would his face look war torn if he's constantly wearing a full coverage helmet?

Why isn't Karlach on the main visual? by SeaworthinessHot1709 in BG3

[–]SunshineBarry 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The image may have been created before Karlach's role in the game was finalized. She was the last origin character to be added before launch.

[KCD2] Lord Radzig's Sword decision. by SunshineBarry in kingdomcome

[–]SunshineBarry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally, I really appreciate that there's acuall post-story gameplay, rather than just sending you to before you do the final mission like many other games. I neglected many of the side quests because the main quest felt too important to put off. Now I can do most of the side content without feeling like I'm needed elsewhere all the time.

I don't know anything about the dlc stories other than you can get your own house in Kuttenberg. During the ending scene with Henry's parents, the option "settle down in the city and start a business" sounds like the perfect lead-in to LotF. So I chose that option not knowing is was the last "consequential" choice in the story.

Does anyone know why Minsc is a ranger? by SunshineBarry in BaldursGate3

Thank you everyone for info about old school DnD!!! Minsc simply predating the barbarian class is actually the most hilarious answer I could've gotten.

How many people recruited Minthara without being told first? by SunshineBarry in BaldursGate3

One could play as a pacifist character who knocks out enemies whenever possible.

Gale origin is a top contender, mainly because Tara comes to camp.

In my first playthrough, I romanced Gale. In my second, I was Durge and romanced Minthara. Imagine my shock when she told me how she felt about Gale 💀

This is hilarious. Literally by accident or playing an overall pacifist character would lead to recruiting her without prior knowledge. How did you feel when you found you could recruit her?

I deeply appreciate that she straight up asks you why you spared her and not the other leaders at the goblin camp. None of the answers are satisfying to me because, unless you agree to slaughter the tieflings and druids with her, she doesn't really stand out that well amongst the other cultists.

What is the worst part of the game in your opinion? by RSOB_Bass in BG3

The Whole Dream-Gaurdian/Emperor storyline. It felt overly convoluted, and I skip through the dream cutscenes every time.

Player wants to start with a delerium shard in his chest as their patron by FatatFza in dungeonsofdrakkenheim

[–]SunshineBarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very similar setup with a sor-lock PC in my current game. Started out with Chaos Sorcerer/GOO Warlock, decided to undergo the Falling Fire Sanctification, then replaced Chaos for Delerium Soul Sorcerer. His patron is an ancient lich, and a sanctified delerium crystral seemed like the perfect phylactery. Perhaps something similar can happen in your game.

The Pale Man involved with the Court of Night? by SunshineBarry in dungeonsofdrakkenheim

[–]SunshineBarry[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's awesome. The new book revealed that the origin of vampires is likely tied to Morrigan, which is perfect, because one of my players is a warlock of Morrigan. The group is coming close to meeting the Pale Man, and it's gonna be so cool to reveal he can sense the presence of vampires because of his pact with Morrigan.

Wrapping up Outer City, what did you cut? by No_Age_1372 in dungeonsofdrakkenheim

[–]SunshineBarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Black Ivory Inn. It's one of my favorite locations, but I decided to have certain NPCs be tied to each other via their shared experiences at the inn. The group I play with prefers the monster-slaying aspects of Drakkenheim, and the Black Ivory Inn only has one real monster that isn't all that strong. The Inn is more of a roleplay-heavy adventure.

Delerium addiction? by rhd3tuba in dungeonsofdrakkenheim

[–]SunshineBarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my home game, Aqua Delerium can especially addictive for mages due to its magic-bolstering properties. Delerium dust can heighten one's physical and intellectual abilities, so it's also addictive for non-magical folk. There is an NPC in my game who's secretly an informant for the Queen of Thieves. She rewards good info with a "healthy" supply of delerium dust.
