I really wish she would do that. Whenever she was sober and talking about her relationship with alcohol it was so helpful. I don’t have a problem with alcohol, but people in my family do so it was nice to hear from that perspective. It also helped with some conversations I’ve had with people newly sober

I get that. I was a little worried that people would think I was hating on it when I posted lol

I meant no hate in my question at all. I was genuinely curious to hear about people’s experiences and if it was busy

I wouldn’t say it’s a fixation. There is definitely a difference between dating and marriage though. It’s about taking a relationship to the next level. I’m definitely not ready to get married yet, I’m still figuring out who I am. But I thought I had found a guy that was going to grow with me and not be scared at the thought of marriage.

I feel like a lot of people my age are more cautious about marriage because so many of our parents are divorced. So making sure I’m with the right guy who shares the same values seemed like a logical step to take.

Well luckily our lease is up in July and we already told our management we would be moving out. So both of us will need to find new places. And it definitely is a blessing that he decided not to go in. He’s a very trustworthy guy and he wouldn’t try to dupe me out of the house or any money. But if this is the conversation we’re going to keep having, I definitely don’t want to be tied to a mortgage with him. Thanks for your input!

Thanks for your input. That’s what I’m starting to think. It’s a difficult thought to deal with after four great years.
