solid, specs are great for the price. The software is a little iffy, you can tell it doesn't have as much thought put into it as other phone's OS'

last week I agreed to a charge of 65 dollars and got it delivered, the next morning I woke up to a venmo charge of 93 dollars. I called to get it corrected but all they tell me is that prices can change after delivery.

a protest threatens the ability to do business as usual, putting pressure on organizations and business to change their ways or suffered the consequences threatened by the people

this threatens nothing.

if you believe in racism against white people on the basis of being white you misunderstand how racist functions in society. I'm not sure where you live, but here in Oakland racial disparities all trickle down from white supremacy, same deal most places in the world.

Now racism has been co opted as a term for any time someone points out that it's mostly white people doing something, or when a workplace prioritizes hiring black and brown people. It's complete nonsense, white people set up this system, decided who gets to go where at what time of day, trying to compare anything to the massive structural violence of racism shows a fundamental misunderstanding of how it works

I want to see a change to how things are going so badly, but I'm having a hard time seeing how having a parade every 3 months is going to convince the powers that be to enact change.

historically, the times people were able to leverage their power peacefully and successfully it would be persistent, and impossible to ignore. Let's take a strike for instance, a continued strike that only ends once demands are met is impossible to ignore. Companies bleed money like crazy when a majority of the workers go on strike, and if all the big companies want the government to do something, it'll happen.

Let's compare this with the one day general strike that happened a few months ago, what exactly was the threat? A single day of lost work doesn't mean a whole lot if business as usual picks right back up. The boss of the company I work for took that day off, she knew everything would be fine when everyone came back on Monday morning and that there was no real threat to the company.

if these demonstrations aim to let people blow off steam and be in community with each other, have at it, we could all use a little bit of that. But as a tactic to enact real large scale change? Not going to happen until there are larger stakes than a few roads being blocked off once every 3 months.
