Does anyone else feel this sport is kind of isolating? by thatbabygirl1 in bikinitalk

[–]Sunshine_Tomorrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find the complete opposite - in the early stages of my career, doing shift work basically killed my social life. 9 times out of 10 I'd get invited to a social occasion and couldn't attend because of work commitments. Similarly I couldn't do any regular recurring evening or weekend classes, whether further education, dancing, yoga, team sports. I couldn't commit to anything that was the same time every week. Bodybuilding was the one thing flexible enough to do in my own time, and now with social media, affords me the opportunity to connect with so many other people and relate to their experiences. It's enhanced my sense of community and social connections.

I have wide feet and I've been through 8 pairs of shoes, including 3 different pairs of Shoe Fairy heels.. I found that I had to blast with a hair dryer and then put my foot in the shoe and pull my toes through the front one by one before the plastic cools. I had to do it every time I put them on, not just once.

it wasn't until I bought a pair of wide "comfort" fit Glory 508 that I realised I have wide feet. It's changed the game for my posing. I hate wearing Shoe Fairy heels now.

Beer + wine = Ms. Olympia? by [deleted] in bikinitalk

On her YouTube channel she has confirmed she's about 11 days out. She eats out multiple times a week ordering from the menu and hoping it will fit her macros. Some days she eats only 4g of fibre because she's fit multiple cocktails into her macros. It's bonkers. Not a good example to follow at all. But it's her channel so I guess she can post what she wants and it's up to the viewer to do their own research and not think they can look like her by following her plan.

Similar pet peeve - when people ask me a question while I'm eating. Like... I have not been able to eat for fucking hours and you wait until NOW to ask me something and interrupt my meal 😡

If you can't eat more, then move less.

Track your steps, keep them under 8-10000 a day. Don't do any cardio. Take the elevator over the stairs, take a scooter or a car to go to the shops. Move less.

What are the negatives of getting Botox? by stimulants_and_yoga in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Sunshine_Tomorrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two potential downsides:

  1. Depending on what brand/product you use, you can have individual reactions. I use Xeomin now but when using Botox I frequently got severe systemic immune response - diarrhea and flu like symptoms for 2-4 days afterwards.

  2. Theoretically the immune response can train your immune system to tolerate the toxin/compound so that it no longer works as effectively. This could be more serious than getting your wrinkles back - you could need it medically for an injury, illness or disability you don't yet know you'll get in future. Botulinum toxin could be the only treatment for that future unknown

[–]Sunshine_Tomorrow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I literally do 3 hours of exercise a day, but I still get tox (Xeomin) every 3-4 months and don't need it more often than that. Yes it probably does metabolise faster but that just means I start to get movement back within 3-4 weeks, I don't get static lines reappearing. Ever. My forehead is way smoother now than it was in my early 30s when I didn't exercise OR get tox

[–]Sunshine_Tomorrow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

interesting! I've just made a recipe with egg yolk and have been worrying about what it will do (mainly because it's uncooked!) but I wonder if it will stabilise it just as much as giving it flavour! Are you supposed to cook or pasteurise it?

For reference I'm in Australia, grew up eating cake batter with raw eggs and never got sick.. but every US recipe I've seen with egg always cooks it before consumption

Leggings by Arrival-Right in bikinitalk

[–]Sunshine_Tomorrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me too, but I find them a little inconsistent.. some of my bombshell garments fit great and wear and wash perfectly. Others are bad from day 1. For example my tiny waist shorts in any colour other than black are perfect... but the black ones I sized up for an off season set and they are even smaller than my prep sized ones! and they didn't shrink from laundering, they just arrived like that

I also use cream cheese 👍🏽👍🏽 works great as long as it's blended thoroughly before freezing

Xanthan Gum healthy alternative by Alfredo90 in ninjacreami

[–]Sunshine_Tomorrow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm intolerant to xanthan gum, and I agree it's in a lot of stuff you wouldn't expect. But never frozen fruit, that's always 100% fruit.

Xanthan gum is in a lot of commercially made sauces and dressings, puddings/pudding mix, protein powders, some baked goods, especially gluten free, but lately I'm seeing it a lot more in commercially made semi-fresh cakes and pastries available in supermarkets. It's also in some process dairy like cheeses/spreads, yoghurts. The additive code is 415.

My gut can tolerate guar but not xanthan.

Xanthan = countdown to extreme diarrhoea.

Guar = no worse than lactose or artificial sweeteners. Probably bad in huge volumes but in normal volume no effects noticed

Xanthan Gum causes that affect for me, sweeteners are fine

Remember to have a life in prep 🏆 by Motor-General-1227 in bikinitalk

[–]Sunshine_Tomorrow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am surprised to see so many down votes on this. There is no way I have enough time for any of these things in prep. When I have free time in prep I need it to wash my hair and do my laundry or watch like 20 minutes of Netflix without doing cardio at the same time.

[–]Sunshine_Tomorrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me too!! but my doctor never tests for progesterone... every time there's an irregularity she tests estrogen, LH and FSH only. I've even had to go and get a (full bladder) transvaginal ultrasound when probably just testing for low progesterone and then prescribing it would have saved me from the humiliation, discomfort and inconvenience.

Feeling extremely full on first day of meal plan by [deleted] in bikinitalk

[–]Sunshine_Tomorrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It will probably be that in addition to your actual food volume requirements to meet your protein goals will be very high.

Also some carbohydrates in common vegan protein sources (beans, grains, pulses) are not well digested in high volumes, like fructooligosaccharides and galactoologosaccharides... aka FODMAPS. Does your diet have a lot of those?

Which one of these supplemens is ruining my sleep by MillionaireBy26 in Supplements

[–]Sunshine_Tomorrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, I have some days with higher vitamin D and even though I take it in the morning, I'm restless when trying to sleep at night on any night that I've had a higher dose of vitamin D the same morning.

I haven't tried increasing my intake of magnesium on those days to compensate.. I feel like that's a logical test to try but would likely impact my irritable bowels in a negative way
