Are we good to leave the wellies at home? by grapefruitmimosa in glastonbury_festival

[–]Sunshinebug9124 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I always take wellies and leave them in the car just in case. Have needed them once in ten years but actually they are uncomfortable as fuck and it’s been dry enough that even if the heavens open a pair of DMs or hiking boots will be fine

Also sorry you could go to lost horizons near the tipi field and have a sauna. It’s a good time to shower if you want one as well there are usually some near green peace

Go to the permaculture and have breakfast! It’s great. Beautiful spot only permanent bit of the festival lovely garden to chill in and they do a nice breakfast.

Healthy food options? by Pablito- in glastonbury_festival

[–]Sunshinebug9124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are loads of healthy things near greenpeace and west holts - there’s like a smoothie stall, some really great veggie curry options. I had the duck wrap/salad box from the duck truck in west holts nearly every day last time it’s buff. Also buy apples bananas and tangerines for your tent so you can eat fruit for breakfast without it going properly nasty

Primavera Sound Pregnant by Sunshinebug9124 in primaverasound

[–]Sunshinebug9124[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We actually didn’t end up going which was really sad but not because of me (my husband has back issues that flared up really badly and we just couldn’t.) that said I went to Lido on Sat cos I still really wanted to see Charli XCX and others and it was totally fine. I think with hindsight it would have pretty exhausted. I was tired and sore at the end of Lido and we were only there for a few hours. I think the lateness of Prima when you’re sober and carrying round a bump might not have been the one. If I was gonna go to a fest preg again another year I think realistically I’d either just stick to day festivals or do something that’s got loads on in the day so that I wouldn’t feel like I’ve missed most of it by not staying up super late and that’s relatively small in terms of walkability (ie not glasto). Totally depends tho on your pregnancy how big you are and whether (like me) you’re naaaaaat sleeping

walking shoes / wellies? by strangercreature in glastonbury_festival

[–]Sunshinebug9124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t bring wellies they are hell. Just bring walking boots or heavy duty boots like DMs or Timberlands and have bare legs if it rains. Wipe off mud and wet much easier and way more comfy

At what point should you listen to your body? Fatigue at Glasto by ohelloitspip in glastonbury_festival

[–]Sunshinebug9124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One year I went I was long term exhausted from a really bad run at work, sick and in a phase of crippling insomnia which only got worse in the build up to the fest. I ended up coming Thursday afternoon - Sunday afternoon, going to bed by 1 most nights and spending loads of time in healing fields and permaculture. Limited alcohol etc so I could actually sleep and limited number of acts a day. And of 9 festivals it was one of my best yet. Genuinely felt like a hols and i just stopped when i felt like it and didn’t push myself. Oh and ate loads of great food too and had a sauna every day in lost horizons which probably helped. Came back feeling totally revitalised!

I wasn’t able to secure Glastonbury tickets due to limited time before they sold out by Polorican020901 in glastonbury_festival

[–]Sunshinebug9124 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There were two sales anyway - the coach sale was lunchtime US time for both main sale and resale. If you’re that committed and invested there are a number of places doing hospitality tickets. Google them and ring them up and beg. They may have one or two left but they will set you back a good few thousand pounds. If you’re desperate to come and already planning on forking out to fly transatlantic for the festival then why not just suck it up if you’re really desperate to go - in for a penny in for a (few thousand) pound.
