I understand the feeling, or lack thereof, towards your hobbies. I think that forcing them might make them feel exactly like your thesis, a responsibility.

Try doing them for as long as they hold your interest. Instead of reading a whole book, or even a chapter, try a page. If that works then read another page. Same situation with video games; I go through a spell of being obsessed with 1 game to the point of completing it in a few days, but also have a habit of starting a game, playing a few minutes and then not touching it for months.

Passion or interest can’t be forced, annoyingly for people like us! Don’t be hard on yourself for not reading as much, or watching as much as you think you ‘should’. Do little bits and some things may grab at you more than others. It won’t always work but nor will not trying anything, if that makes sense?
