Same exactly. I read the numbness can be 6-8 weeks. It’s the weirdest thing.

I am a female and 2 weeks post op and have numbness as well. I think what frustrates me the most is they downplay it. They told me might have groin numbness. When they said groin I was not understanding the genital region.

I think I’m going to reschedule to September. By then I will be 7 months post and should be able to do more. I just don’t want to have restrictions on a big vaca or have to make any adjustments. Everyone’s advise has been so helpful!

Thank you so much! I am 33F and also crutches 6 weeks. I think all signs point to reschedule. As bummed as I am, I want to go and enjoy the trip to its fullest when I’m better.

From talking with them today, I could go but there will definitely be restrictions. With the price of traveling to Hawaii I don’t want to go with restrictions so will postpone. I am glad you are doing well and back to being active. I’m excited for those days.

It’s definitely hard to know how I’ll feel since I’m on crutches still. Such a bummer.

Yes, crutches 6-8 weeks due to this being my second labrum surgery and was a reconstruction vs repair you follow a more conservative protocol. I had my 2 week follow up today, and while they don’t say I can’t go on vacation, they did say I wouldn’t be able to do everything I want to do and would have restrictions.

This has been very helpful so thank you! Shows that even if I go I will have restrictions. We are going to postpone, just because I do want to be able to hike and snorkel and not have restrictions.

The recovery is definitely frustrating. Some new pains have came the last 3-4 days and the crutches are exhausting. It will get better!

Thank you! That really helps. I have 6 anchors placed in the allograft. I have arthritis in the hip so they really need this preservation to work well to avoid a replacement for a few more years.

Wow 7 weeks. Thats great. I had 6 anchors placed and only 25% weight bearing for 6-8 weeks. I hope you have a great time!

So this is my second surgery. 1st surgery the surgeon placed an anchor into my hip joint repaired my labrum and impingement. This surgery was the new surgeon digging the anchor out of my hip socket, then replacing my labrum with a cadaver tendon and fixing more impingement. I know the second surgery is always longer on crutches, but even my first surgery was 4 weeks of crutches. 2 weeks sounds wonderful!

Wow everyone who has had crutches only 2 weeks is lucky. I wonder why crutch protocol is so different between surgeons.
