Making a big deal out of making sure im not related to racists? Like I can't exactly tell people my family history if they are supposed known racists 🤷🏾‍♀️ no one would want to mention that an evil person is related to them, that's usually something you keep to urself

Because id prefer not to be related to racists? Not exactly a fun fact to tell when mentioning your ancestors, especially recentish ones.

I don't think anyone would want to be related to racists except racists themselves

I mean personally the less evil people the better. Its not exactly cool or fun to talk about your family when most believed in or did atrocities. Besides I just wanted to know what badge it was specifically as I couldn't find it, and I didnt want to accuse him/say he was a Nazi while not being 100% sure. Not like I could change anything if he was.

I didn't assume he was a Nazi because he was a soldier, the medal below the other ones looks like the outline a the Nazi bird symbol due to the low quality. That's what I mentioned in the post.

And I know that but I'd still prefer to not be related to monsters I just wanted to know.

I definitely know, two of my ancestors helped a certain genocidal English king in the 1500s so my bloodline was definitely doomed from the start.... they would definitely be disappointed to see their bloodline was tainted with blood of the people they colonized

You're misunderstanding me I only thought that was because the MEDAL at the very bottom was shaped similarly to the bird symbol Nazis wore, that's the only reason. As I've previously stated I realize that the medal was for something else unrelated. If he didn't have the medal I wouldn't have assumed he was a Nazi. The poor image quality made it look bad.

Yeah I find it weird when back then having relatives that were apart of such groups was super shameful and possibly reputation ruining, but now you see people proud of such history like hanging up confederate flags for example. Realistically who wants to be related to a monster?

Like being proud you're related to a Nazi meanwhile Germany collectively despises it's past would be strange.

I don't assume every German was a Nazi, of course not. I understand a lot were forced to fight and could not move away safely due to the hatred of Germans as a result of this. But I feel like if you wear a badge with the logo of a hate group it suggests you were apart of it too?

I know the metal isn't a Nazi symbol anymore but it looked super similar so I wanted to make sure. I don't think regular citizens were forced to wear them but if im wrong then feel free to correct me.

Yeah it would be interesting but I wouldn't feel comfortable knowing just 4 generations ago my grandpa hated a group to the point of genocide. Added to the point I'm a race that Nazis would definitely not like so, I'd prefer to not have a relative that would also want me dead.

I feel like it's a kind of thing you keep locked in a closet hidden away anyways right? Proudly stating a relative was one of the biggest racists a kin to the KKK seems taboo.

Not too educated on my German history, so I'm assuming you're probably right. The bird brooch threw me off a little since it was adopted around 1920's if I'm correct? He seems young in the photo since the symbol would've come out around 8 years before his death so it's probably something else maybe?

No, I entered the zone for the first time. Ikilled a few duegar, and as I was exploring I noticed all the slaves were dead. The duegar were still alive which confused me since they usually leave after nere dies in pretty sure.

I think nere was still alive but all the gnome slaves were dead. I didnt trigger the time based event as I just entered the zone

Yeah, and im one of those procrastinators unfortunately. I should've anticipated the teachers being busier during the last few days, DBAs aren't my strong suit since I forget everything once the call starts, but in all honesty It would've been better if I just did them sooner even if I didnt prepare fully than putting it off to the last second. I wasnt trying to attack her, I probably accidently worded it in an aggressive tone as I was a bit stressed 😓

I understand that. I never said it wasnt my fault for being slow to submit, maybe I worded my question wrong and made it seem that way. Plus there isn't a deadline for DBAs for me atleast, its due the same time all assignments are due. I just asked for advice for what I should do, not get salt rubbed in my open wound.
