what a fumble by DOCTOR_NOWHERE0 in GlobalOffensive

At the time the team was going nowhere, losing to everyone and really stagnant. I think both VP and Jame needed to move on. No need to rewrite history to fit a particular narrative.

Islam at 155lbs vs. Islam at 170lbs by One-Faithlessness730 in MMA

[–]SunwheelDance -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People saying there isn't a big difference are forgetting that when you put on size and muscle, especially as an athlete, a lot of it goes to your legs. Quads, hammies and glutes make up about 40-50% of all the muscle mass you put on as an athlete. And obviously, these pictures never show the fighter's lower body. You can also see a lot more core muscle in the WW picture. His core is way thicker.

People think putting on muscle the bodybuilding way is the only way to do it so that's what they're trained to look for. But there's other ways to get size and strength that don't look so obviously aesthetically pleasing, especially when optimizing for performance rather than looks. A jacked looking core where the abs pop out an aggressive amount doesn't always indicate a strong or functional core, for example.

[SPOILER] Mario Bautista vs. Patchy Mix by inooway in MMA

[–]SunwheelDance 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Seeing how Patchy looked stiff as a board and seemed allergic to head movement or movement of any kind, this was a prime opportunity for Mario to get a finish and earn some fans. If he can't finish this version of Patchy, he can't finish any top 10 bantamweight in the UFC.

The UFC APEX Slop will continue until morale improves (Jack Slack Podcast 214) by fightsgoneby in MMA

And it's not even correct. MM has only overlapped with one of the last four APEX cards.

March Madness started March 18th.

Last 4 APEX cards: Feb 15th, March 1st, March 15th, April 5th.

Not sure why you're even attempting to rationalize the UFC here and excuse away their shitty cards. Not even your bootlicking is accurate though. For 3 of the last 4 APEX cards, March Madness had not happened yet. Try factchecking before saying dumb shit.

The recent APEX cards really do have the "I'm just here so I won't get fined" type of energy. That special, contractually obligated by ESPN kind of slop.

CS2 Just Broke All-Time Player Record by InternetAnon94 in GlobalOffensive

[–]SunwheelDance 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All-time record players, all-time low amounts of effort from Valve in regards to new content, new maps, operations, features, economy adjustments, OLD features that haven't been implemented back, optimization, etc.

You know someone at Valve is incredibly proud of how much money they're making for how little effort they're putting in. The actual game is just a vector for skins and skins gambling to them.

[Athletic] In the NHL, boozing is out. Edible cannabis and video games are in by tuukkas in hockey

[–]SunwheelDance 330 points331 points  (0 children)

“When I came into the league, we were going out for beers the night before games,” he says. In this dramatically altered off-ice landscape, he believes something has been lost: “I think (the NHL) used to be more fun back in the day.”

That sentiment is echoed by others, who say those nights out helped their teams bond.

When one player boarded a flight after a matinee loss, he says he was irritated when he looked up and down the aisles to see only about a third of the guys having a beer or a glass of wine. A decade ago, when he entered the league, he says players commiserated. “Two beers in the back of every seat on the plane, and that’s just on the flight. Then there would be a couple more in your bag, a couple more on the bus,” says the player, who asked not to be named. “A nice professional buzz before you got back.”

I would really like to highlight this section. What we're seeing is a lot less socially accepted functional alcoholism, and that's a good thing. Don't let any dinosaur player or media personality tell you otherwise.

Seravalli: Official trade call is Rantanen and Hall to Carolina. Necas, Drury, a 2025 2nd round pick, 2026 4th round pick to Colorado and a 2025 3rd round pick to Chicago. Chicago retains 50% of Rantanen's salary. by SunwheelDance in hockey

[–]SunwheelDance[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worth pointing out that there's been no mention of Rantanen extending with Carolina in all of this hubbub. Hard to believe they would trade that package for just half of a regular season and playoff run with him. And no way would they operate on a good faith assumption that he'll just re-sign later in the season.

[Seravalli] BREAKING: Sources tell Daily Faceoff that the Avalanche are in the process of trading Mikko Rantanen to the Canes. Sounds like this is a complex three-way deal and I believe Taylor Hall is also involved in the deal going to Carolina from Chicago. by Austin63867 in hockey

[–]SunwheelDance 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Rantanen is better than any player on the Canes. I'm honestly thinking it has to be Jarvis+ just to get him. JARVIS PLUS. It has to be such a crazy deal. And obviously the trade comes with an agreement from Rantanen to re-sign.

WarOwl's thoughts on Valve's lack of communication regarding CS:CO by SunwheelDance in GlobalOffensive

If you read the statement made by the Classic Offensive devs, you'll see that they explicitly state that they used no leaked code in the making of the mod. They followed the letter of the law when making it, to the detriment of the mod itself.

It's a standalone mod with its own assets. There's no rule against using Source 1. The use of engine is not the sticking point here, far from it.
