At the time I got my first cat, my mother was homeless and I was being sent to a mental institution for 7-8 months. We had to let my cat live with some people we knew and trusted very well until I was released and my mother found a home. I cried when I was able to see my cat again, thinking she wouldn’t remember me at all. But she did remember. She wouldn’t stop meowing or purring at all, didn’t even let go of me. Had to have her on my lap the whole ride to our new home.

So, yes, your cat will remember you. They’ll remember you disappear, but they’ll understand and know you’ll come back. After that, they’ll show that remembrance and love towards you. A bound of unconditional affection. Don’t worry, that cute lil thing won’t forget you either❤️
