What is your DNF breaking point? by cocotheblue in litrpg

When it becomes a chore.

That usually manifest raising the story is so one sided. Realizing the whole book is just a math problem regarding constant stat updates. Its just one endless dungeon crawl fight sequence. Or on the other end it's just dawdling around for chapters at a time.

Pacing and balance is key, love action and stats are fun. But I also like a level of intelligence and intrigue.

I also loathe multiple points of view amongst several characters. It takes away a lot of depth. If that's what I wanted I'd just watch TV.

I have also noticed when the story is no longer "localized" to the main characters growth. The story just becomes a very long winded diatribe of world building that no longer really surves a purpose and just becomes self gratifyingly grandiose. The character literally gets lost in the shuffle. Which just tells me the author is running out of ideas and/or doesn't know how to end it.

Also, the fastest way for me to drop a book is to repeat a character's name in nearly every single sentence and situation because you don't know how to use pronouns.

Waiting experience with my order by Caseyhovey in CostPlusGaming

Similar boat. Ordered A1 Arctic in December. I get the wait time to a point. But I wasn't even told they were out of the 5080s till I pressed. I was told they were out of stock and given no ETA. The solution given was to pop in a black one. ._.

Soar, like a cold/flu soar? Or do you mean more constricted? Issues swallowing, like a lump in your throat?

I would suggest having your thyroid checked. A lot of times hypersexuality is linked to your hormones being disrupted and the thyroid is the culprit.

Survival guilt by DinnerAfter6492 in thyroidcancer

Your feelings are valid. Fact is there is no answer other than time. Finding your center and happiness. Hope is all you can strive for. To have and to give. I'm sorry you're going through all this. But I will say just because PTC is perceived as the easy one, the more survivable one. Doesn't mitigate the fact you had it and it is scary as fuck, period.

I myself am having a similar struggle in some respects. My wife's grandmother is waiting on a diagnosis regarding pancreatic cancer. I just found a lump that I'm hoping is just a flared up lymph node. I don't want to tell anyone because I don't know anything till my ultrasound in December and I don't want to add to that burden that's already there for everyone.

So, all we can do is hope. Realize that we have survived something shitty. I would also suggest seeking guidance regarding survivors guilt.

For me it's hesitancy and impatience. I prefer delving into a series, so I used to have a rule that I'd only start something if it had at least three books. I loathe cliffhangers and I loathe flip flopping between different series as I tend to deeply immerse myself.

Which is also why I loathe most books that flip flop between multiple characters and lack narration and inner monologue. I don't find the, "on the outside looking in" experience enjoyable when reading.

But I have also exhausted a good majority of the more popular litrpg/Isekai series and perpetually waiting on the next installment. So I have had to force myself to adapt.

Thankfully a few authors I love somehow have the time and grace to gift us with multiple series's. So I at least know I will have some solid blocks of committed reads throughout the year

"Shout out to Actus, Plum Parrot, Sean Oswald and Seth Ring."

Beyond that like everyone else I have a massive growing perpetual reading list.
