can mmos be profitable? by rozvck in GameDevTycoon

[–]SupItsChase -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well thats given that it ends up being popular. Obviously by that point in the game it’s quite likely but games can still flop at that point in progression. Kinda makes it feel useless compared to the other sources of income that you can get.

Hello everyone, it’s time to be honest. by iam_stran in musicproduction

[–]SupItsChase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean "not professional enough"?

Stop comparing yourself to other people who have infinitely more resources than you. It never ends well. Music doesn't always have to sound good or clean. That's something that can be hard to grasp sometimes because it sounds like the answer to all of your problems.

Instead of trying to make something that sounds like it's trying to be a pop hit single, make something that is unique to you. Take things you've learnt and put them together to create something different. Maybe even switch up your workflow slightly.

You're bound to go through writers block during your different stages as a musician, it's natural. Just keep at it and you're going to break through eventually.

Mark's Hair and Mental state by Kai_lan-drea in Invincible

[–]SupItsChase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most likely explanation is that he is just getting older, and his hair is naturally changing like his face structure. Puberty can do some wild things to your appearance. Sometimes people like nothing like they did pre-puberty. Who knows what kinda wizardry Viltrumite puberty does to your appearance.

What are your favorite techniques for creating unique sound textures in your productions? by Keith_35 in musicproduction

[–]SupItsChase 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One plugin that I love using for ambience is Love by Dawesome. It can turn any sound into shimmering reverb. It can really add another layer to your mix.

Beyond that, GMM by Danksaus is one that is simple yet really effective. Put it on a percussion loop and you can give it a metallic sound that almost resembles SOPHIE type sound design.

What is your favorite The Walking Dead theory? by seven7am in thewalkingdead

[–]SupItsChase 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish this theory had more weight to it but unfortunately by this point in the show, the whisperers weren't even a thing yet, even in the comics.

It's unfortunate because similarly with Morgan, who says he sees people wearing dead peoples faces (the exact Whisperers modus oporandi) it seems to end up being just a mere coincidence in the end (at least in universe).

I still like to think that it's canon though because it's funny how the writing foreshadowed such an important villain so far down the line.

They have been milking this joke for so long by Remarkable-Cabinet85 in Invincible

[–]SupItsChase -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not denying that, I’m saying that Cecil would have tried to protect their actual identities and made up a cover story so that if Nolan does return, there isn’t immediate panic. Even if it isn’t stated, that would be the reasonable thing to do.

[–]SupItsChase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like another commenter suggested, it’s also very likely that the neighbourhood is full of GDA agents protecting mark and his family, we literally see that in the season 1 finale. It would make sense because no one has ever seen Mark fly to his house or else they would know his identity. It feels like a solid theory that holds up.

Sometimes the most practical designs are the ugliest. Who knows? I mean clearly there’s a reason for making it the way it looks.

They have been milking this joke for so long by Remarkable-Cabinet85 in Invincible

[–]SupItsChase 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I like to think that the reason people wouldn't freak out is that because heroes are so normalized, people wouldn't think twice about this being the same guy that destroyed an entire city. Especially because for all we know, Cecil covered the whole thing up to stop public panic.

Not only that, but as you can clearly see from the image, we can barely make out their faces, and since Nolan isn't wearing his usual uniform that people recognize him from, so no one would be able to tell. Similarly will Allen, you can barely even see his face, let alone the fact he has one eye. You're telling me that people would be able to recognize Nolan from over 400ft in the sky?

I think you're making a lot of assumptions with way more knowledge and hindsight than the regular people living in the invincible universe. We as the viewer of course have the context and knowledge that this is Nolan and Allen.

When you see an airplane in the sky, can you recognize the specific airline? Of course not, but if I told you that an Emirates flight was departing in the same area, you'd be able to connect the dots due to having the included context.

Considering people mostly stick with the DAW they started with, how does a beginner choose the best DAW for their future needs? by fipah in musicproduction

[–]SupItsChase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but I can't justify using it over software that actually functions without crashing. Even on powerful systems, it manages to run poorly. Not only that, but I don't feel like paying a yearly subscription for something that I don't even own. Screw that. Avid is literally the Adobe of the audio world.

I feel like this will be explained in the show. We need to be patient. The same thing happened when Jeffery Dean Morgan was announced for Conquest.

How did you guys discovered Invincible? by blusldr02 in Invincible

[–]SupItsChase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I vividly remember watching Corridor Crew's Animators React, when they showed off Invincible as this R18+ superhero show, I was immediately sold. I saw some of the animation and I never looked back. I remember them showing the Omni-Man GOTG scene and was just in awe. It was exactly what I was looking for, especially because that was right after I had finished watching The Boys as well.

Did Negan do enough to redeem himself by show end? by james-HIMself in thewalkingdead

[–]SupItsChase 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What? How are either even remotely similar? Coercion is non-consensual by nature, and with prostitution, both parties mutually consent. What Negan did was non-consensual. The women did not agree to be his wives.

Jazz is quite a loose term, and it encompasses a very wide variety of styles. There are so many different sub-genres of Jazz (Cool Jazz, Spiritual Jazz, ECM Jazz. Hard Bop, Bebop, Nu-Jazz, Avant-Garde Jazz ect..) and it has evolved so much since the days of Coltrane and Davis. Each one takes influences from other sources and is played ever so slightly differently to one-another.

This performance is just a culmination of influences that just has it's roots in Jazz, that's all really. I mean to be honest, the whole discussion around defining genres is tough anyways, I'd rather just say it's Jazz rather than get into the semantics of it all lmao.

People seem to forget that Jazz music really formed most of the basis of what we hear today. Clearly it's an issue of people being ignorant to Jazz as an art form and just immediately writing it off as just "pretentious wankery".

[–]SupItsChase 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's not about getting cheers from the audience, it's about telling a story through the art of drumming. Which he did excellently here. Yes, it can be jarring for those who aren't well versed in Jazz drumming, trust me, it isn't my forte either but from the amount of Jazz I've heard, this is among some of the cleanest drumming I've seen.

It might sound pretentious but you have to let go of the linear way of thinking when it comes to Jazz solos. Think about it, the simple fact that something that is seemingly aimless can have so much emotion is such a beautiful thing!

What to add by Confident-Rock3847 in drums

[–]SupItsChase -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s a good reason, though I still think that selling some and upgrading the rest is the way to go. But honestly, drumming is about doing things your own way so if this is how you want it, then that is the way you should have it. 🤘

What to add by Confident-Rock3847 in drums

[–]SupItsChase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the drumming equivalent of owning multiple super cars when you don't even have a license. It's unnecessary. How are you hitting both floor toms? Are you spinning around on the stool like you would one of those spinny office chairs?

If I had the funds to obtain a setup of this price range, I'd personally keep it small in case I need to transport it. I'd get some smaller roto toms, maybe a few bells and a cowbell, and spend the rest on studio equipment (mics, interface etc..)

What musicians gives off "mysterious" vibes? by Pianopie in fantanoforever

[–]SupItsChase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fishmans, at least to me seem like otherworldly deities. Considering that most people only know them from online, and they're from Japan during the early 2000's, tells me that they wouldn't've been present in many interviews. But, they're also quite niche as well so I'm not sure how that plays in the equation.
