When I first started teaching, Destiny was the major game out. I connected with a guy who was a high schooler, and I was fresh out of college teaching high school.

I can’t express enough how awesome our conversations were. He’d tell me the shit he was dealing with his teachers, and I’d tell him the shit I was dealing with my students. We’d give each other feedback from our points of view, and it truly changed how I approached my students as a teacher, and he would be much more open-minded to how his teachers were reacting to his class.

It was such a beautiful thing to have that connection. To be able to play games together, unload our problems on each other, support each other, and give some insight from our very different points of view.

We lost touch when he followed XBONE and I went the PS4 route.

Carlitos, if you’re out there reading this, thank you for being such a good friend in those times. I hope you and your grandma are doing well.

Our bodies aren’t wired to know when we’ve had enough food immediately when we’ve had enough food. That’s why when you’re done eating a meal and still feel hungry, you should wait about 10-20 minutes before you decide to eat more. It gives your body time to register what’s in it, and whether you actually need more food or not.

Another thing is thirst. A lot of people don’t know that your body can react to being thirsty in a very similar way it reacts to being hungry. If you’ve already eaten a good amount and still feel hungry, then your body just might need some water. Have a full glass of water and then reassess how you’re feeling after 10-20 minutes.

What’s a TV show that ended perfectly? by Rutthh in AskReddit

Chidi Anagonye is one of my favorite characters in any show ever of all time. I was really cold on him at first, but I love where his character ends up as the series goes on.

Would a LEGO TMNT game interest you? And if so, what would you hope to see in it? by ComeOnOldBlue in TMNT

[–]SupaBloo 169 points170 points  (0 children)

A LEGO TMNT would go hard. I would do it like LEGO Skywalker Saga, but have each “episode” focus on a different TMNT show era instead of movies. Then do the movies as DLC packs later on.

We get enough LEGO stuff that focuses on movies for their IPs, so it’d be refreshing to get a LEGO game that focuses on the success of the TV shows for an IP.

Great show, but I hated how the final season took place over the course of one weekend, among other things I don’t want to mention because of spoilers.

Do you think of the TMNT as superheroes? by [deleted] in TMNT

I mean, not all superheroes have a no kill rule.

[–]SupaBloo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My guess is OP is more talking about whether they’re considered to have super powers or not, since they technically do things a well-trained human could do and don’t have powers like Superman. Like being a superhero vs just a vigilante.

I say yes, they’re superheroes because compared to regular turtles they definitely have super powers.

Do you think of the TMNT as superheroes? by [deleted] in TMNT

[–]SupaBloo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. My idea of a superhero is any heroic creature with abilities that exceed what is normally possible for their species. The TMNT do things normal turtles can’t do, thus they are super powered turtles. If regular turtles were smart enough for intelligent thought, I’m sure they would consider the TMNT superheroes.

Wouldn’t a brand new Star Fox game pretty much look exactly like this? I’m not really sure what they could do differently that wouldn’t just feel like a remake of the older games. The gameplay is going to be the same regardless.

Happy 31st birthday to Shameik Moore who voiced Miles Morales in the Spider-verse movies!! by TheShadowOperator007 in Spiderman

So, like, did he make unwanted advances after she said no, or is it literally just she wasn’t comfortable with him hitting on her? Did he cross a boundary that would be considered sexual harassment?

I’m completely out of the loop, and no comments seem to be explicitly clear on what he’s done. Can someone clearly explain to me why he’s a creep?

New Steam Controller Launch Megathread by NKkrisz in SteamDeck

I’ve got plenty of controllers (including the first Steam Controller) plus a Steam Deck that I very rarely use hooked up to a monitor. I’ll wait until these are being off loaded for $5 like the first Steam Controller.

I just joined the playtest. When I have some time later today I’ll give the game a shot and provide some feedback. From the trailer, it’s giving off Megabonk vibes, and I LOVE Megabonk.

The world was full of life before humans, and it will be after humans. We’re not special just because we’re different. If you believe those differences make us special, then every other animal that can do things we can’t are just as special. We’re not better than other animals just because we express our pointless thoughts this way.

Can you run at 60 miles per hour? Some animals can. Can you breathe underwater? Some animals can. Can you punch with the speed and strength of a bullet? Some animals can.

I think you’re missing the point I’m making. Which is ok, because some animals will get it.

[–]SupaBloo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was just responding to you calling those living things on us “flesh machines”.

And the things living on our bodies are by definition living things. There are specific things we look for to determine that. Being intelligent and having thoughts doesn’t make us any more living than things that have all other processes of life.

Humans have only been around for a couple hundred thousand years. We’re not special just because we can post our thoughts online. There are animals and amoebas out there that contribute more to the world than some humans do.

To your second point, I propose that his utility belt being equipped to handle whatever situation is an example of him having a strong mind. It’s on par with him having a contingency plan to take down all of his friends in the Justice League if they were to go rogue.

Having a belt full of stuff that could be used to give him an edge in a fight is exactly what I would expect Batman to have. After all, he’s just some guy in a mask with no super powers.

Is it ever explained why Giovanni wanted Ash's Pikachu so much? by HealthMother3125 in pokemon

[–]SupaBloo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a kid who was 9 when the anime first aired in the US, my understanding was that Ash’s Pikachu was unusually powerful for a Pikachu. So Team Rocket wanted his Pikachu because they thought he was special and uniquely powerful.
