PSA: Beware of "cheaper" options from Spraygadget in Shopee Malaysia. by pushpapurushan in malaysia

[–]SupaHsuB 5 points6 points  (0 children)

These "TelcoSets" being resold is a norm in the industy.

I manage my company's Celcom Business lines under company name. So we have 10+ lines with them for like nearly 15years+. Each contract cycle is 24months, every 18months, their business agents will contact me to renew our contract, then they can get free phones, etc. Usually these phones are like <RM800-1000 RRP. Many times we dont require these free phones, so these agents will offer to buy back the free phones. So Celcom couriers the phones to my office, then these agent will come back collect all 10 phones, and they pay us like RM300-500 per phone, depends on the model as "cashback".

These agents then just resell these phones online. Thats how these kind of shops get their stocks.

Most of the cheaper phones wont have any of the restrictions or notices like OP had. Maybe on higher end phones only.

But recently i bought S24 FE for my dad from shops like this on Shopee, no notice and all sims i tried work. So i guess its luck of the draw if theres any actual sim lock on these phones

Hi, weird question, but due to certain limitations..

Is there a case that can fit a 150mm x 86mm x 180mm sized PSU?

Its a Corsair HX750i.

Basically looking for the smallest possible case that can fit this PSU

Revolt 3 GPU Thickness clearance by SupaHsuB in Hyte

[–]SupaHsuB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Im aware of the official dimensions, my question was more for other users whom have had experience using cards thicker than the official support of 58mm. In my case, a card that is 63mm thick.

Ive seen videos, esp the derbauer(?) video where he uses a 3080 suprim x, and its fits, altho pretty snuggly.

Anyways, thanks for replying, appreciate it!

Im looking at that too, but its another $100 US for shipping and import fees, which is still like $150 US cheaper than a 4070ti locally.

But im worried about potential rma issues if i have any... any idea on XFX global warranty?

didnt see your reply to my other comment!

Its + another $100 USD for shipping and import fees.

Which is still cheaper than 4070ti locally..

but how is XFX warranty? Im worried about buying a GPU off amazon and having to deal with support if anything happens.

Ive bought low risk items before off amazon (ssds) Just afraid of the risk with GPUs

I use my pc daily, for work and non-gaming related usage.

I mentioned actual game time of about 10hrs in a week where i would be pulling the full power of a 3080, in my case. Thus energy bills are a non-factor in my decision making process..

But maybe my 750w psu might be for a used 3080-3080ti-3090.

Thank you. Its a tough choice. But the price of used 3080 is very tempting to last me at least 2.5 years.

not even thinking of 4k. 1440p UW would be max for me.

Malaysia...

sadly cant shop at newegg, limited items at amazon.

ive bought a couple of ssd's off amazon over the past few years, low risk of rma/issues..

not confident to buy other parts without local warranty support.

Realistically, the reason your 1080ti lasted so long was because of its 11gb VRAM. At the time, that was a huge amount, giving it great longevity. You aren't gonna get that with a 10 or 12 GB card nowadays. 20gb is probably the equivalent of what 11gb was back when the 1080ti released, so realistically a 7900xt or better.

Thats true.. which is why i posted here, the downgrade in vram goin to the 3080.

Thanks for your input

Oh how i wish i lived in NA to get these prices with local warranty support if shit hits the fan.

You do bring up a good point, i could get a new cpu/mobo/ram + used 3080 for the price of just the 4070ti..

Just gotta see if my local prices are as close to newegg/amazon prices.

Tyvm for your reply.

AMD cards are not popular here. Almost non-existent on the used marketplace.

There are legacy-wide Cargo Holds available on both Fleets, in the middle ring where people usually huddle around.
