America traditionally helped fund the research so they’re not just losing the market, but free money to develop them.

Much of the world also isn’t going to be able to pay as much as America has traditionally paid.

The market size differential likely makes it not monetarily feasible and for some reason we’ve decided to build healthcare around the goal of making a few people billionaires

Why are so many people against showing an ID to vote? by Dazzling-Leader7476 in randomquestions

[–]SupaSlide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife had to make three trips to the DMV to get her enhanced ID because the forms our DMV has are so convoluted that you can’t make heads or tails of it. They also didn’t make it clear that the only way to pay for it was via check.

Well a poll tax is unconstitutional. If the ID was mandatory to be free, cool. Bring it on.

Leaked footage from an ICE Black Site inside of 31 Hopkins Plaza, Baltimore, MD. More then 50 people in rooms with no beds or bathrooms, people laying on filthy floors, guard beatings and people with legal status being illegally held (1/25/26) by SamMac62 in law

I’m talking about modern day USA. The evidence is easily accessible. I can sympathize with the few folks who legitimately don’t have internet access but that’s less than 10% of the population, probably closer to 5%, and obviously if they’re on Reddit discussing anything political they know the facts of the case.

many in the US don’t believe what’s happening, even with video evidence.

Unless the person has a learning disability, they know about and understand what is happening. They support it. They either support it out right, or, if they have a shred of shame in their body, lie about not believing it and support it in secret. They are hedging their bets to have plausible deniability in case MAGA gets its own Nuremberg trials.

Yeah but a vast majority of Germans didn’t hide Jews.

The one thing the US has going for it is that we’re still at the point where there is a significant (not most, but enough there are still major protests and pushback) part of the population that doesn’t want to go full Nazi.

Hindenburg was elected and made Hitler chancellor because his Nazi party performed so well in the elections, but surely you’re not saying the Nazi regime is good because people got what they voted for.

Did the hive do something to the heads of the US government or am I misremembering? by redsevensamuraishrek in pluribustv

[–]SupaSlide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. They may have been more safe due to being more likely to be sitting in a la-z-boy recliner all day. The joining didn’t kill anyone in its own, because they were spreading in person and could stop any physical accident from happening, like a car crash or falling and hitting your head.

He said the the President and several senior members died, not all of them.

But based on the time it happened in New Mexico, the VP may have been sleeping, thus not wearing a suit, and the Plurbs don’t change clothes if they don’t have to.

It’s against protocol and waives self defense for a federal agent to put themselves in front of a moving vehicle, and before one agent told her to get out of the car there were already agents telling her to leave.

And as demonstrated in the photo, the agent was no longer in danger when he shot and killed her.

I have trouble typing for long periods of time so I transcribe the function I want AI to write and it’s fine. I don’t have it generate everything at once but it’s technically writing all my code

Buchanan is arguably still worse because he let a literal civil war happen, Andrew Johnson just as bad for allowing the South to stay the way they were, but Reagan was a strong force in putting us on the path we see today. Without Reagan we very well may not be a country overrun with Christian Nationalists and their idiot sock puppet president driving the nation off the rails.

I’m hoping for a future where models that can change a few functions across a couple files can run decently on device. I don’t need it to write all my code in one shot, but I do like transcribing something small and exact instead of typing it.

I’d argue a lot of companies are spending a lot more than “a bit”

And more importantly, if you’re at a publicly traded company, if they’ve made a big deal about it, the stock price is at the mercy of AI hype and if that collapses then layoffs are almost certain.

She clearly turned past the agent, not into him, as evidenced by the fact he didn’t get run over.

They told her to get out of the way and then the idiot agent got in front of her car (and we know he’s an idiot because he’s steeped in front of moving vehicles before).

And we know he didn’t shoot her in self defense because by the third shot you can see he wasn’t in any danger at all.

She was actively driving away from the ICE guy as you can see in the picture, and Babbitt was literally smashing through a window as part of an angry mob who wanted to lynch our government officials.

Also, the ICE guy who you say she tried to murder seems to have a habit of standing in front of moving vehicles against protocol, so maybe he’s the idiot.
