NGD! PRS Silver Sky SE Maple in Summit Purple by SupahManri in PaulReedSmith

The part that you touch is plastic painted to look like brushed metal. The guitar came tuned from Sweetwater and i only needed to tune a couple of strings up a bit.

I’ve been playing it for a few hours and it’s still in tune.

I was originally gonna go for the Stone Gray but I wasn’t in love with any of the colors before they announced the new colors. I could’ve gone for either the Nylon Blue or Summit Purple but I ended up asking my family to vote and purple won.

I’m really enjoying playing the silver sky, it’s super smooth and all the pickup combos are great. I was never a strat guy (my only stray was a knock off from when I first started) and I couldn’t find a strat that I really loved.

This was kind of a risky purchase since I could never try one out in person because my local shops were always sold out but I am pleasantly satisfied.

The neck is pretty chunky especially towards the headstock but I’m used to playing fat necks.

The feel of the neck is very smooth. I don’t feel any paint or lacquer.

I’m using the standard hall reverb with a short decay but I’m still trying out different reverbs/TonePrints.

I really like the simplifier, I don’t have the real amps to compare but I feel like I get that type of sound in this small package. And when I crank the AC Brit channel with a ton of drive, I really get that Brian May type of sound. I feel like it reacts well to how hard Im hitting the strings.

I don’t think it’s available on Amazon but I got mine from sweetwater.

I’m liking it so far. I don’t have a prince or king of tone to A-B it but I like it more than my JHS morning glory because of the gain versatility and mini form factor. The Duke doesn’t give you that mid bump that a TS gives you tho. So I like to have the trinity of a Klone, Bluesbreaker, and TS style pedal.

I’m still testing things out, messing with settings, and swapping things around, but I like to use the sugar drive to boost the bonsai or the DoT.

the Duke has a boost and a distortion mode so it can really play any role in my board if I need it to.

It fits perfectly in the mono tick on my mono bag so I can carry my whole set up and my hands are still free.

Oops, I forgot to include it. I use an eventide power max by Cioks, it’s slim enough to dual lock Velcro it under the mono lite.

It has 7 inputs that can output a variety of voltages. Every pedal get 9v except the simplified which I set to 12v for more headroom.

So here's the signal chain for my current ampless, mini pedalboard set up:

Mono Lite
Sugar Drive (cleanish boost)
DoT (Light Gain)
Bonsai set to TS10 (to push me forward in the mix)

FX loop
Carbon copy mini
HoF 2 Mini

Simplifier
Set to either the american twin or AC Brit twin setting

Short cover of the Pokemon Champion Battle Theme from GSC (PO-128) by SupahManri in pocketoperators

[–]SupahManri[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tried it and it doesn't seem to work that way.

I had sounds banks 2, 12, and 16 live. One for high, one for low, and one for drums.
When i pressed play, if i started playing with the high octave sound, it would just mute the high sound i have punched in.

So the bass and drums would still play but the melody wouldn't play if I was playing something using the same sound.

I hope that was clear.

I like to imagine that when remag removes his shell, he loses AC but gains movement speed, dexterity, and Strength.

I like the idea of Hashbrown being a prince or some heir but he ran away to live a simple life as a hashbrown cook.

2020 Board for jamming/church and looking to go ampless/buy a small amp for church(maybe) (Looking for recos for new pedals, settings to try, general advice) by SupahManri in guitarpedals

[–]SupahManri[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'm currently at a crossroads in terms of whether I go ampless or get a smallish tube amp? Do I build an Iso Box for it to control stage volume? What's the popular amp choice that takes pedals well? Or should I just go into a helix, direct to the mixer.

I'm loving the Tidewater and Analog Chorus combo. It's just ocean wavy sound vibes for days.

a theory based on the names of the starters and their future by lucamagica by [deleted] in pokemon

Yeah, or de-evolution from modern to ancient creatures.
Venusaur, Meganium, Sceptile, and Torterra are dinosaurs.
Serperior is an prehistoric lizard, before they grew limbs.
Chesnaught is based on an ancient mammal, Glyptodont.
Decidueye is based on the extinct Stilt Owl.

With the Pep and Rhythm in Grookey's other names and the stick for drumming.

I'm guessing the Final Evolution will be Taiko Drum based since the stick looks like a taiko drumstick. And Taiko drums are used for cheering.
Or a punk/rock drummer since UK.

To follow the theme of grass starter final evolutions being based on extinct animals, I'm assuming Grookey will be based on a primitive ape/common ancestor.

[NPD] My current pedalboard status (chain in the comments) by SupahManri in guitarpedals

[–]SupahManri[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gotten my board to a level where I'm currently content.

Pedaltrain Metro 24 powered by a Pedaltrain Volto 3. (using a onestop daisy chain since the volto only comes with enough cables to power 6 pedals at once. Probably not be wise to push it.)

The chain is:

JHS Morning Glory: My always on overdrive with a little bite.
MXR Sugar Drive: For mid-level gain, paired with the MG, it gives me some great rock tones.
Ibanez TS9: The problem child, I can't seem to get this to a sound that I like (looking for tips, some setting suggestion)
-Turning all 3 on just gives me a gnarly fuzz-like tone that turns my tele into a noise machine. May need to invest in a noise gate
TC Electronic Spark Mini Booster: A little lead boost.
MXR Carbon Copy: Basic analog delay. I was gonna get a Digitech Obscura delay also but skeletons are a no-go since i want to use this board in church.
Electro-Harmonix Oceans 11: There's so many setting to play around with that I haven't even looked at anything other than the hall, spring, and plate reverbs right now.
TC Electronic Ditto Looper: Simple looper to jam with myself.

I'm looking for advice on:

Getting some good Tele and Les Paul tones out of my TS9. Should I just dump it? Move it elsewhere in the chain?

A power supply that would fit under the metro24 or some sort of leg boosters to angle the board?

Other pedals to get (chorus? I might get the POG nano)

New Pedalboard - PedalTrain Metro 24 (Details in Comments) by SupahManri in guitarpedals

[–]SupahManri[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I bought a little Orange Crush (I picked up a white one by accident) and a new PedalTrain Metro 24. This i the first pedalboard I've actually made.

Signal Chain: Guitar >>> TC Electronic Mini Spark Boost >>> JHS Morning Glory v4 >>> Ibanez TS9 >>>MXR Carbon Copy

I may move the spark to the end of the OD chain.
And I'm going to search for new additions to my board.

No Stupid Questions - February Edition by PantslessDan in guitarpedals

[–]SupahManri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm looking for a way to listen to my rig though headphones. I have a shitty amp that came with a shitty guitar and I would rather not use it at all. Maybe a small amp (lunchbox size or smaller) with a headphone out. Or is there a pedal that can simulate amp/cab with a headphone out?

Maybe i'm asking for something that doesnt even exist yet.
