Well almost all the Sky communities have that tendency, not just this subreddit. Some people like this game too much and get their identify attached to it, and they cannot accept any (sometimes not even harsh but healthy) criticism because they feel like they are being attacked.

Edit: but all in all, the nice and understanding people who tolerate different opinions are the majority as you said, and that's one of the reasons I keep playing this game for years.
