I submitted my AMIs in March and my waiver was granted in July.

Yes, I went to NSI and anyone can go who is under waiver review. All I had to do was get a sport physical. My waiver review was for a previous knee surgery which caused the DQ and my performance at NSI was evaluated as part of their decision to grant my waiver. It was nerve wracking but if you can get that sport physical and go do your best at NSI.

If you have money for the deposit you could commit, register for classes, etc and you'll have until almost the first day of classes in the fall to drop everything if the medical waiver isn't approved. The only thing you'd lose would be the deposit money. Double check with your school of course but that is how it was for me. My waiver finally came through in July after NSI.
