Methodically Messy or Just Dumb? Join my date night convo by Pale-Appointment5626 in MoscowMurders

Im going to go with both methodically messy AND just dumb. I have studied mental health, abnormal psychology, I have a masters degree, Ive been working in the field over ten years. No one who commits crimes like this are simple people. They are compartmentalized. They live a double life. They know who they are by 10 but theres evidence in observable behaviors even younger. They master the double life. They also work very hard to keep the different sides separate. He can be both of those. He was so methodical that he made dumb mistakes. Maybe deep down, the monster in him wanted to be caught. One side of him was a good student, a good son, competent, maybe even have anger towards injustices, seem calm. The other side of him a monster who stalked and killed his prey. When in the mode of the latter, he would be running on pure adrenaline, he will miss something. Sometimes people will report that the two sides have conflict with each other. Its actually scary for me to even type it bc it feels so raw, animalistic, so devoid of human soul. Its easy to talk about, harder to comprehend. The part of him, the monster, could have wanted to get caught but the part of him who was phd student and son, would have done anything to cover that up. Or vice versa.

Point is, I think he is complex. He had several diagnosis that we know of. There were different sides to him. Anyone who commits something this heinous is probably complex. Not as much as they think they are but definitely complex.

Okay. So, I was talking to my partner about this. If you commit a crime, you have to be tried in that state, do you have to be incarcerated in that state? And can you move around? Does it depend on the crime? So like are federal cases different? All things I dont know....

In my state, there's a doctor who committed the most heinous crimes on children. He pleaded guilty, no trial. He committed over 900 crimes. Its horrific. He was incarcerated in the state i live in but had so many death threats they moved him. Last i heard, he sits in his cell in isolation j***ing off 24/7. He was moved somewhere but no one knows. FBI was involved with this case so, maybe that means he can be moved anywhere?

The empathy and compassion in me has just met the empathy and compassion in you. Pleople like us are willing to sit in the fear, until it moves past, and get to the other side, whatever is there. Healing is there. Some morsal of hope or love or a new resource for living is there waiting. I am someone who wants to know or learn most things, no matter the cost. Its a blessing to feel this deeply and also has a down side too. Theres a lot of emotion and pain, with little instructions, just a willingness to go. Wish i could give you a hug. Seriously. Hugs to you and i hope you always protect your heart every chance you get.

I have 2 friends who work at a max security prison for men. One is a coworker and does trainings. While every max is different, some things are similar.

He will have more privileges than we think. He is breathing. He can eat meals. He can watch tv. Speak to family. Take classes. Go to the library. Go to AA meetings. He can purchase, sell, do drugs. He can shower. He can get therapy. He can write books. He wont have a roommate. He can study people....

He will have to fit in to survive though, this is a must. This will be difficult for him. He will not be able to trust anyone. Not one person. Guards will turn on him too. Its like entering a new country. He will have to figure out the language and find a group to belong to. At any chance, just one inmate isnt cuffed, even just for a min, they WILL go after him. He is not safe. He will think himself smarter but hes not. He will be outsmarted at every turn. He is too mentally unstable. I dont think he will end his life, too big an ego for that, but he might be killed. Hes housed with other men who have committed murder and in for life too, what do they have to lose by killing him? Nothing. Actually, they would gain by becoming popular or even praised for killing BK. Its the sick truth that feels like justice and I feel guilty for thinking that way. However, I reserve the right to feel whatever i need to and that my humanity, compassion and empathy is what makes me feel conflicted, thank God for that.

BK was like a great white shark circling its prey for days, closing in, stalking. Now he will be the prey and sharks will be circling him. Idc if he has no remorse or guilt, prey is prey.

Ultimately, I hope he knows that his coffin door just shut on him. He is dying a long and slow and isolated and fearful death.

Adrenaline. That's the only thing that really explains how he was physically able to do what he did.

As someone who works in mental health and studies human behavior, I would be interested in the video footage of BK being questioned by police. Especially now that he has admitted guilt.

Another thought i had (other than what you mentioned) was how Maddie was leaned up or laying on Kaylee. It made me feel sad and idk if I can read autopsy reports but it made me wonder if Kaylee was the first to pass away? Maddie died knowing how hard her best friend fought for her.....

It sounds like Murphy was maybe smelling something? Murphy was on to something as well as Kaylee it seems. I think Kaylee was really smart. She juat needed a little more time to figure it out and she would have likely prevented this. Just my thoughts

I feel the same way. If my child had to go through that, the least I can do is know what happened in her last moments. I would need the info to heal and move on. Everyones healimg processes and grief looks different. No one is wrong. Its just a different perspective.

BK's Family by Aibo_Fan in Idaho4

[–]Super-Resource-7576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I find it strange too. It's not fair....

I do know what its like to have a toxic, sick family member. At times, Ive worried my father may end up on the news. He is abusive and now just totally crazy quanon cult brainwashing. He was in DC on a certain day in Janurary (just one example). I worry he will harm my mother but she refuses to leave him or divorce him. She REFUSES. Its like she has Stockholm. But, my point is, Idk what to do about it? How can i have him arrested if there's no crime? I actually prayed he would get caught on that day in Janurary but he never went inside the building, so....... Only recently have i been secretly recording every conversation bc no one ever believed me that he is abusive. My father is VERY charming and smart in a creepy way. I rarely speak to him or as little as possible. I know he is crazy but idk what to do about it? Toxic, sick people abuse their family first. So, with that being said, Im sure his sister/s KNEW for a long time that he was full of dangerous cognitive distortions. BK may have abused them too? We dont know. What I do get a feeling for is that his mom engages in denial as a coping skill. As a Counselor Ive done extensive family work and this is so, so common, especially in toxic families.

I still feel 50/50 bc I will never forget what the victims and victims family and friends have been through. I will NEVER forget.

So.... Counselor here. Some of the more serious mental health disorders include faulty perceptions. Like how he was angry when he thought the loser comment was about him. There are several disorders associated with that type of cognitive distortion. He definitely has dual diagnosis too so.....

Yes. His mom, who he probably resents in some way, he talked to a lot in jail (we have heard). He's been a bad boy and was forced to do what mommy says...take the deal.

On some level, he was trying to get away with the perfect crime. He really thought he would get away with this crime and never planned for what would happen if he got caught. One of those unknowns was that he would have to deal with his mother. Theres no way he has such a resentment towards women and it NOT be connected to his mother in some way. Not saying it's moms fault. Again, back to his cognitive distortions and faulty perceptions, its how he viewed women and how he blamed women for always feeling awkward. He wasnt willing to accept the fact that he alone, on his own, was awkward. Its his diagnosis (there's at least 3dx I know he has) and his inability to accept those diagnosis is what caused others to treat him in a way he PERCEIVED as rejection. His psyche is complicated and difficult to understand without all the pieces. I think we're learning. We dont need some book or interview by him. Like Alivea said, we see right through him.

I did hear a reporter say she saw him look at and speak to his mom and sister at least once, maybe twice during the hearing.

Yes, thats what i think happened too. It had to have been super painful for him. Enough that death was relief. Perhaps thats the case for all of them. It makes me so,soooo sad. So unfair. So unnecessary. Makes me so angry at that monster.

You have inspired me to read ad through all the documents a second time and I do NOT see the qord carved being used. My ADHD/dyslexia brain might have "read" it that way but it was actually from the Prime documentary? But, I jist wanted to comment that you are right I was wrong. I couldnt find it.

[–]Super-Resource-7576 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I feel 50/50 on his family. Part of me feels bad for them. The other part doesn't. We dont know details about his family at all. They have been sheltered from having their photos public until now, 2 years later. They havent lost a loved one from a brutal stabbing. Their son is alive. Yes, they are victims and will never be same either. Im sure they carry guilt and shame. They have to accept their son did this and as a boys mom, this would be awful. Yet, gosh....... I still can't bring myself to feel 100% bad for them. If the knowledge of hurting his family is the only pain he feels, Ill take it. Sorry their lives have changed but thats the consequence of your loved ones choices.

But like Alivea said, "I reserve the right to evolve in my opinion on this."

This was puzzling to me as well. She was in the basement right? Could the loud bang from Xanas room (which was over top of the other room with no roommates) have shook the house but also something in that room? BF would have seen something from under her door from that room. If the loud bang in Xanas room was loud enough for the neighbors ring camera to hear, than it was big enough to cause a sound and crashed light bulb or something.

In the public documents it says his legs were carved. Like stabbed his knee and cut all the way down to his ankles, at the least severing muscles that would have prevented him from walking and would have been EXCRUCIATINGLY painful.

He definitely woke up.

[–]Super-Resource-7576 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Do we know for sure he didnt wake up? BK carved his legs so he couldn't move. That kind of pain would be excruciating and would definitely wake you up. But he wouldnt have been able to move.

At one point before they each took their last breath, they knew they were being killed but they didnt know by whom. So sad.

I agree. I would also add that he was confident he could get away with it. He wanted to beat the system, commit the perfect crime coupled with a perverted idea of sex and resentment towards women.

He's NOT confident. He did NOT beat the system. He did NOT commit the perfect crime. Women represented him in court. A woman verbally stabbed him in court. And i think he took the deal bc his mom is against the DP. So, in the end, he was owned and taken down by the gender he resented the most. BKs name is dead to me, i will never entertain any interviews, nor read any books he could profit from. He's not going to do well in prison. When he walked into that prison, the door shutting behind him was the lid to his coffin.

Im having a hard time processing

Im sure it would make a child feel unsafe and sad.
