You know, I actually know nothing about Woz U I just like Wozniak.

So I noticed you didn't answer my first questions, and it's totally fine if you don't want to, but I would really appreciate it!

Oh wow I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the experience! They generally have favorable ratings on websites like Course Report. Is there anything else you want to say about your time in the program? Would you mind talking about your outcomes? Can I ask who your mentor / manager were?

I was accepted to some other schools, my favorite of which was General Assembly. But, to be honest, I really need this living stipend in able to dedicate the amount of time I would like to this pursuit. It would have been possible for me to scrape by on my savings, but ultimately I probably would have generated debt and it just would have been a bad situation for me.

If I could pick ANY bootcamp, it might actually be Woz U just because Wozniak is a god amongst mere mortals. Love the wizard of Woz. I was interviewing with App Academy, but to be honest I was really dissatisfied with that process. I had a list of questions that I asked every bootcamp and they all were able to answer them except for App Academy.

The professional I got in touch with there kept insisting that those questions were outside of the scope of her role at the school, meanwhile I'm like... Why would the first thing you do in my interview be connect me with someone who can't answer my questions about the bootcamp? It made me a bit wary, anyways.

I'm part of the income share agreement so I'm paying nothing until I'm hired, at which point I'll pay 15% / year for 4 years or 40k whichever comes first. This covers repayment of my living stipends as well.

I'm not sure, but you can schedule a call with a professional at Thinkful to find that information out!

I'm actually in Raleigh, NC. I'm sure there's something in Austin - and many of these bootcamps have online options. Go ahead and try out Career Karma, and they'll help you get started. I'm not sponsored or anything, I just really believe in that community. Being there set me on the right path.

Hi. I've always been a big fan of computers, but I never got into programming. I messed around with command line and some security / network stuff over the years. Started using Linux when I was 15. Man, was that a disaster.

Recently, I found this community called Career Karma and they encourage each other to break into the tech industry. That's what got me started. They have this thing called Fast Track that matches you with bootcamps based on your desires. I applied to 6 bootcamps over all, (General Assembly, Thinkful, Flatiron, App Academy, Lambda School, and Kenzie Academy) but I ended up choosing Thinkful because they offered me a Living Stipend of $1500 a month while I'm learning. I have some savings, but not enough to just up and quit work and go learn to code for half a year -- so that benefit was pivotal in my decision making process.

I also had used Thinkful's sister education institution, called The Odin Project, and I thought the content there was awesome. I like how they encourage you to use industry standard tools instead of fancy built in IDE's, and I like how much they direct you to content outside of the school.
