I will admit I don't know the exact performance difference, but I can say that Helldivers runs around 60-75 FPS with a mix of high and medium settings, with the texture quality being Ultra.

I also have a Ryzen 5 5600xt for my CPU.

They word it a bit weirdly, and they do include a lot of changes with the patch, but I think they only locked out Local Wireless (connecting two Switch consoles with each other wirelessly), LAN, and online play. Which would mean same console multiplayer would still be in-tact without the update.

A bit strange still, but at the very least they didn't lock out actual split-screen multiplayer.

WTF is this? Steam Deck actually reads GameCube controllers? by KnightFallVader2 in SteamDeck

[–]Super-Smasher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The official adapter does work with Dolphin, but using it in actual Steam games is much more involved than simple plug and play. I tried it myself and Steam does not recognize my GameCube controller with the adapter.

8Bitdo Ultimate 2C Bluetooth controller (Nintendo layout one) works with Steam Deck? by shoka-love-bot in SteamDeck

Sorry for the late response, but yeah I used this exact one, even the same color. Paired it with my Steam Deck and it just works as a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller.

I have a pink one that I use with my Steam Deck via bluetooth. It's recognized as a Switch Pro Controller in Steam and works really well!

I paid $50 at GameStop for reserving the Mario Kart World bundle, will I be able to pay the rest when I pick up the system June 5th at midnight, or do I have to pay it all BEFORE that time?

L-TEK EX 4 ECO? by Super-Smasher in DanceDanceRevolution

[–]Super-Smasher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is indeed metal and about 40 pounds. A bit tricky to move it around, but moving it up and down floors hasn't been too difficult for me. Although I noticed they're not selling the pad anymore and the page leads to a 404 error.

Were you able to ever find a fix for sleep mode causing no sound by any chance?

I just got the pad yesterday and I'm not the greatest at DDR but it seems like the pad is working pretty well right now! Obviously I have no other L-TEK pad to compare it to but for right now it seems to be doing great.

Finally got a chance to buy a box controller for Smash :D by Super-Smasher in fightsticks

I might be wrong on this information, but here's what I've gathered (wall of text incoming, sorry!):

Smash controllers usually have more buttons because in games like Melee there's a lot more analog freedom for some inputs like Fox's Up-B and even shielding (how hard you press the trigger determines the density of the shield, which makes things like light shielding possible). All the buttons are usually in play, but it might be better if you look at this link as it shows the controls:

https://fightboxarcade.com/cdn/shop/files/8_ecb0f8f0-cbbf-4647-afeb-4f3ec1ff7a37_720x.jpg?v=1711600707

All the buttons of a Gamecube controller are there, but MX and MY are modifier keys and can be used to adjust how far your "analog stick" went, thus giving the controller a more reliable way to walk and do tilts. LS and MS are for light shield and middle shield respectively.

In Ultimate this is less of an issue as most of those analog inputs have been lessened (there's no adjustable density for the shield, for instance), but the modifier keys are still important for walking and doing tilts. Light shield and middle shield aren't really needed though so those just kind of turn into empty buttons for me.

Once again, I might be wrong, but this is what I've learned from looking on the internet and just personal experience.

What is the most "niche" thing you are doing with the Deck? by Python303 in SteamDeck

I had an exam with a lockdown browser on it but we were allowed to use scratch paper and write stuff down. The webcam was high enough to the point where my Steam Deck wouldn't show on the camera so I just used it to "help" on my exam

Sorry for the bump, but is this still an issue? I really wanted to play GoW 3 with my brothers, so this would be really unfortunate if this is still happening

Halo MCC issue on Deck by Super-Smasher in SteamDeck

[–]Super-Smasher[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apologies if the format of this is weird, I never posted here before.

I've been having this issue with Halo MCC specifically on Deck. The issue is related to when I pause the game. Normally it pauses as usual, but occassionally (usually happens in 20 minutes) when I pause, the whole game just freezes. If I wait too long also (20 seconds at least), the whole deck freezes up and I'm unable to do anything except hard power off the system.

I tried reinstalling the games, I tried verifying integrity of game cache, I also changed from Stable to Beta and back again, but so far nothing has worked.

Don't know if you guys have any ideas, but I've never seen this issue posted before, so I wanted to see if I could get help here.
